Following up to the Crooks and thieves who run Day Block! The location is great, some of the staff is friendly (even though the person I worked with is no longer there), even the space is a nice size, but READ THE CONTRACT and DO NOT be pressured into signing right away! They are only out to benefit themselves and they will try and nickel and dime you. There are too many other locations that have better customer service and are more compassionate IN CASE something happens that is out of your control. Beware they will really try to take whatever money they can from you, which is one of the reasons why theyve revised their contract so many times (version 17). Reviews matter and they will tell you more than you may want to know, so be smart, do your research and DO NOT PUT ANY MONEY DOWN UNTIL YOUVE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK!!! Personally I would NEVER again do business with Day Block Event Center, NEVER!!!....several months later I STILL have not received the money that was owed to me. I did not cancel due to breaking off an engagement, my fiance and I never broke up as assumed in the response to this comment. No word from the staff regarding the refunding of my money, even though the date was rebooked. No response to my emails or phone calls, nothing! So yes when I call the company crooks and thieves I assure you its true. Do whats right Day Block and refund me the money that you actually owe to me $550, not the entire balance of the hold date fee. Quite disappointed in their business practices, not frustrated with my unfortunate circumstance that lead up to me canceling my event with them.

My husband and I recently had our wedding here on a Friday. It was a great day with only a few hiccups. The venue has so much natural character that we barely had to worry about decorating it. They had all the chairs and tables we needed, a bar, and overhead lighting. They have a parking lot near by you can rent out for your guests and its right in the middle of the city. Its location has easy access for guests to navigate to with nearby hotels. The new coordinator, Cassidy, was always prompt to respond to our emails and questions. Our wedding guest count was around 150 which was perfect for this venue. I could see it being a bit tight for anything much larger though. We had a slight hiccup with our original contract and our end-of-the-night time, where we almost had to leave an hour before we had anticipated, but they were understanding and we got it figured out. We were also told we could leave our kegs there overnight and then had to last minute find someone to haul them out, but again, in the end it worked out. All in all, this venue has great ambience for a rustic/chic type of wedding. Its also amazing because they work with so many food vendors and you can bring in your own alcohol. Thanks Day Block!!

My husband and I were married at the Day Block Event Center in November of 2015. We had an absolutely incredible wedding, due to many many factors -- but, certainly, choosing the Day Block Event Center as our venue was one of the best decisions we made. We were trying to have a wedding for 170 people on a modest budget, so at first glance the $5000 charge for a Saturday night seemed steep. But Day Blocks food and liquor policies saved us a ton of money in the long run. We brought in boxed wine, kegs, and food from our favorite restaurants around the city (Amazing Thailand, Brasa). Day Block answered all of our questions, but was very hands-off, which was exactly what we wanted in a venue. The space is a little tight for 170 people, but its beautiful and very functional. (the bathroom situation - only 2 - is a little tricky) We would absolutely recommend working with Day Block to any other couple.

We had our wedding here in May 2015. We could not have asked for a better and more accommodating staff or venue. Beautiful space! Their openness with catering made setting up a personalized wedding easy. We had a wedding of around 100 guest and on a Sunday we were able to easily get away with street parking. Day Block even offered up the space to us for a rehearsal a few days before the wedding. We procrastinated on setting up our bar tending package and the Brewery was able to set up the whole thing with less than a weeks notice.The beer was delicious and we took advantage of their wine corkage option. Loved it!

Day Block is a beautiful space but their staff was extremely difficult to work with. They were extremely helpful, up until they received our check, then they nearly disappeared. Emails would go unanswered for weeks. The space was not ready the day of our wedding. Then they told us we could pick up items the next morning at 10 AM. We arrived before 10 and they had already thrown out our items. Then they attempted to keep our large chalkboard and a month after the event they have not returned our security deposit or returned emails related to the deposit. Totally unprofessional!

The venue was amazing! Great open space, beautiful brick and hardwood floors. We chose it based on location and the fact you can bring in your own food and alcohol! Great communication by staff leading up to the event. The only thing I would have liked to see is staff on hand to help clean up after, was left to guests/family to clear the space, even garbage the night of. Also kind of spendy for just the space and tables/chairs. Still, you cant find the space near downtown that allows outside food and drink, ended up saving a lot in that area. Great experience overall.

Fantastic to work with, event coordinator Cassidy was a quick and clear communicator and made sure all our questions were answered and everything went perfectly. The event space was absolutely beautiful, the owners were easy to work with, and it was the perfect venue for our two receptions this May. Got catering through Day Block for one of the receptions, and everyone loved it. All in all, a great experience!

Day Block is a beautiful space and the flexibility is great - we were able to hire our own caterer and host our own bar. Thats where the good qualities end. I could go into detail of why we did not enjoy our experience with Day Block, but Ill spare my hands to type it all out; we did not have a positive experience when planning our wedding at Day Block at all.

Great event space above Day Block Brewing. Simple but large space. Easy Street parking for after hours events with plenty of metered parking nearby. This may become a bigger issue once the new stadium is built. Overall, good event space.
