I dont understand these excellent reviews because that is NOT what i experienced here. Im new to owning any type of aquarium and fish. Whoever helped me didnt actually help me and it felt like he was more in a rush than to help a person that is new to this. Some blonde short hair skinny guy... Whatever. The fish tanks they were selling and from what i saw were filthy and overpriced. $99 for a dirty nasty looking tank that should have been $10. I gave one star because the tanks that did have fish in them were pretty clean, if it wasnt for that i wouldnt have given this place even 1 star. Ugh That was my experience there and it took me 30 minutes to drive there. So far i cant say i agree with any of these reviews because from my experience, that guy was no freakin help and i was pretty upset after leaving there and reading all these positive reviews. All in all the service sucked. I mean honestly now. Im sorry that Im so ticked off but from the rave reviews i read, the 30min drive, to the horrendous help and the dirty tanks being sold, i have every right to be as upset as i am now. Luckily a friend of one of my other friends is much more knowledgeable as he owns like 4 freshwater and 3 saltwater tanks with fish in them. I told him about what i experienced at this place. I wont be back and Im 100% sure there are much better places and websites.

John (the owner?) is one of the most knowledgeable individuals Ive met in setting up a tank and explaining the chemistry involved in keeping fish healthy. From listening to his explanations of tank cycling and interpretation of water test results, after being totally confused by other fish stores and web info, I decided you have to be a mini biochemist to be successful over the long haul. So, I embarked on an information gathering mission to understand everything I needed to know to maintain fish and Johns info was what started me going. Turns out there are only a dozen or so very important things to understand, and all of those came out in my conversations with him, but I didnt know it at the time. I was doing everything wrong, from overstocking and overfeeding, to underfiltering, even though I was following all the common "guidelines." I purchased my current tank set up from Sea Level and bought a couple of additional fish. The prices are good and service very excellent. Im still a newbie, but my fish now seem healthy and happy, where they used to be sluggish and fat. Im pretty sure if I hadnt gone to Sea Level, about now Id be watching my last fish die and would have given up on the hobby.

Just got home from here and had to write about it. Sea Level is unpresumptuous from the outside and even when you first walk in; theres a mine-field of aquariums that seem fairly priced. After a walk around the store Ive put together a few things based upon my experience as a freshwater planted-tank aquarist: - Wide selection of fish: Rift lake, South American, and SE Asian - Even though color of stock wasnt outstanding the appearent health and vitality of the fish was great - active and swimming where they should be with no signs of stress - Some fish were expensive but they were exceptional quality/color - The tanks were clean!!!! - The plants in stock were fairly decent considering the areas water source and Rob said he could probably get most anything else from one of his distributors I have no real working knowledge or experience of salt-water aquaria but as a rule of thumb, if it clean and active, then its probably healthy and happy - that conservatively sums up Sea Levels salt-water side. Great Store check it out.

Typically used this store when I lived ~15 min away when I was in highschool. College relocated me to about a ~1 hour away and I still consider it my main fish store. They have an excellent staff that is knowledgeable and friendly. Their fish selection is quite diverse, if you cant find something there then ask, John will put in an order if its the right season and will get you want you want most of the time (from my experience). Theyre predominantly a freshwater store but they do have a small saltwater selection (~1/4 the store). They even have some aquariums dedicated to freshwater plants. Would recommend this store to anyone whos looking to get into the hobby and anyone whos quite experienced and already knows what they want.

IIf youre contemplating anything to do with fish you have to stop by this store for their advice and products. I recently purchased a tank from a big box retailer, and though they were more than helpful in assisting me in purchasing products, I got no real sound advice or warnings. A week and one dead fish later, I stopped into Sea Level and got the professional advice I needed. Hopefully, my 2 remaining fish will survive the brake-in period of my tank. Customer service at Sea Level is hands-on and outstanding (they know their stuff). Fish and product selections beats any other store Ive seen. It was very easy to rate Sea Level 5 stars.

Sea Level is an amazing place! Lots of fish to choose from and if they dont have it they will get it in very quickly for you! The prices are very good and the fish are healthy. They are very knowledgeable and i love to ask them questions, I have even verified the information that they have told me and there right on! The truly unique thing about Sea Level is that they accept "used fish from people looking to get something different or try a new species of fish or maybe a fish that has outgrown an aquarium. I would always recommend this store to any fish lover from beginners to experienced hobbyist.

There was some one named John at the store and was extremely patient, Nice, acknowledgeable and kind! He returned my $40 cichlid with no receipt!!! He gave me all of my money back!!! Than, he helped me with saying what fish get along with mine. I ended up getting a ton more than expected because of how nice, clean and organized the store was!!! Compared to a world of fish, come here, better tank cleanness, a ton better service, not NEARLY as crouded and best of all its organized! This is my new favorite store and I would like to say THANK YOU A TON JOHN!!!

The most amazing place for fish EVER - mostly John ( the owner). I simply wanted someone to order a tank stand for me - perfect service, perfect product, perfect price. The store is incredible - has everything. Please go here just to check it out for yourself. John very kindly helped me with my water situation and even called me back to explain more - unbelievable human being - the fish are lucky to live there with him until they are sold - just cannot say enough good about this place! AND - he is brilliant on top of everything else!

If you are looking for expert advise, and I mean "EXPERT" the owner of this store is the most knowledgeable person in this line of business or should I say science. Not only is he and his staff extremely knowledgeable but are always willing to spend as much time with you educating and filling you with the tools needed for any type of aquarium you are keeping or looking to start. Just look at the health of the livestock and that says enough for me!!! 5 stars and hats off to you guys, thanks for all of the help and advice! Cheers!
