I go up here quite a bit, and they deliver consistantly a high quality product. I think if there was a true "Downside" to it, is sometimes the inconsistancy of their beer menu (they dont have my IPA 100% of the time!!!)...but alas, thats the life of a microbrewery, and needs to be expected. Their pizzas Id say are definently the highlights from a food standpoint, you *NEED* to get the wheat crust though, it makes all the difference in the world. From a light app standpoint, they serve up a hot pretzel with a spicy beer mustard that takes the cake. Its not overwhelming, its not that expensive, and that mustard is something I wish theyd just sell me a bottle of for home! Their beers though are the true showcase. They typically have a selection of various ales and stouts readily on tap, so if thats the type you enjoy, youre going to be pleased. They rotate in some reds, some wheats, and a lager or two as well. Interior 4/5: - Large, and spacy. NON SMOKING. Couches in the corners of the restaurant around some flatscreen TVs to watch the game. The place looks a bit unfinished (...ceiling?), Im not sure if that is supposed to add ot the charm or not...but it is what it is. Music selection is a mix of rock and jazz...TVs at the bar have been shown to show Discovery channel stuff (which I love! :D) Various events add a nice touch to the place (Euchre tournaments, beer/wine pairing dinners etc) Service 4/5: - Sherwood service has always been good to me. The servers are knowledgeable about the products they sell, and even when busy have kept an "upbeat attitude". (When theyre busy Ive never seen them act stressed etc.) Value 4/5: - As most places these days, you get a lot of food for what you pay. Their prices arent amazingly great, but you get good quality for what you pay for. Their beer tends to be expensive, but this isnt the type of beer you drink like a fish and call it a night. Its a quality beer that you can call it a good night after 3 or so....so at the end, its a wash. Im giving it a 4 simply because of the quality. Quality - 5/5: Going in there for the stuff thats good will give you a good experience .Im not the biggest fan of their burgers, but any pizza product they have (whether it be bread sticks, or the pizzas themselves) are a sure thing. They sell the best beer in metro detroit in my opinion. Places like Dragon Mead may have a wider selection (Which is a good thing. I love dragon mead), but Ive still yet to find a place that can top what these guys can put out. Overall - 4.5/5: What can I say? I love this place. You need to be able to enjoy the product it puts out though. If youre a fan of just drinking Bud Light all the time, and every other beer youve tried that has a bit of a "bite" tastes "Nasty" to you...then youre not going to like it here. Go in with an open mind, and TASTE what youre drinking. SMELL what youre drinking. Youll be amazed!

In two words: Go Elsewhere. With so many pub choices, nothing stood out demanding a return, and far too many things went wrong to bring us back. First, our food (pizza, burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese) took over an hour and 15 minutes after ordering. The Manager (who talked with us) indicated the kitchen was buried with orders. Looking around—the place had numerous empty tables, maybe only 2/3 full. I would hate to think what the wait would be if the place was busy! Our appetizer came AFTER the dinner. The child’s dinner (we asked to bring it out after an hour. It was grilled cheese—I could have gone home, made one and brought it back by the time it came) was last. Fish & chips came without tartar sauce. (Really?) and when we requested it, the server brought Ranch dressing! We ended up serving ourselves for hot water—the waitress was nowhere to be found. Second, the food was nothing exceptional. The fish was overdone, the burgers cannot be made to order (according to the Manager), the fries, as one reviewer eloquently stated, managed to be over-cooked and soggy at the same time. Thirdly, nothing was done to invite us back. The Manager did comp some items, pretty fairly I would say. Although he stated this was not like Applebees where everything was microwaved—that this was handmade. My thought was, “If Applebees can make it faster AND taste better microwaved than you can by hand—perhaps you should take some lessons from Applebees!” The Manager did ask we give them a second try, but did not offer any incentive (coupons, specials, etc.) to do so. Perhaps your experience will be better. But this is a heavily competitive industry and there are far too many better places, with better service and better food that impress us the first time, inviting us to return again and again. Go elsewhere.

You are welcomed at the door by an overpowering smell of rotting grass. From there you get escorted past the pallets of ingredients that the staff moved into the dining area. Oh and lets not forget the brewers did not have enough room to work in the brewery area, so they had to bring that out into the dining room as well. Once you get past all of that mess, you are further encouraged by the roar of screaming babies and toddlers. Needless to mention thier somewhat older siblings are scrambling beneath your feet. Still trying to remember that you came here for the beer, you grab the menu. The menu was well made, decently laid out, and plentiful- But its the FOOD menu. Oh wait, heres the beer menu... a little piece of low quality paper that was printed by a $23 inkjet printer. To further insult you, they only have 7 beers on the menu! Oh crap, but by the way they are out of this one and that one.... Odd, I thought for sure the website advertised nearly 50 different brews! Ok, Ok... There were a few positives, and this place has lots of potential... The staff was friendly and prompt. This impressed me quite a bit considering the conditions they have to work in. Also, the beer that was available was above average. If this place seperated the McDonald land play area and their brewing operations from the main pub, they would have a shot. Next, they could provide a better selection of available beers...after all, they call themselves a "Brewing Company", not a family diner.

Let me start by saying that I dont drink...not a drop. But this place drew me inside based on the authentic look from the outside. My boyfriend and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was very good, especially because the handmade chips were still warm. I ordered " The Big Bad Wolf" and my boyfriend ordered chicken and waffles. I tried his waffle only because I dont care for the combination and it was like they poured donut batter into a waffle maker. It was to die for. He didnt like that it seemed like they used a chicken finger instead of a large, greasy thigh of fried chicken which is what he expected. But let me tell you about this sandwich. Ive had dreams about it. Its by far the best sandwich Ive ever bit into in my whole life.
