San Sebastian certainly creates an atmosphere for a good wine experience, and I would rate service poor by those that we received our tour by, lacking enthusiasm and excitement. I rated service Good by observing how others welcomed and treated guest. As one who has enjoyed wine, a Napa Vally experience should not be expected but I feel San Sebastian could certainly do better with the great atmosphere they have. We felt pushed us through the tour/tasting and it seemed to appeal to newer wine drinkers. I was dissatisfied that there did not seem to be a refined or sophisticated approach to wine by our tasting guide. As he wore denim short and a polo, he pureed wine very carelessly, not making any attempt to not spill wine, it was splashed everywhere. We did not take time to talk about the wine or its tasting notes. We had to glasses- 1 red, 1 white, and he would pour white into our previous red glass, turning it to a Rose/blush, what sense is this? At the end of out tasting, I witnessed a guest ask a legitimate question about corking a bottle, our guide dodged the question poorly or didnt know the answer, even more sad, as a previous bartender, I was able to answer he question confidently and to her satisfaction. Atmosphere: great; however I will not return or suggest to anybody genuinely interested in wine.

I have been on the tour here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have bought a lot of wine there when visiting St. Augustine and I love the Vintner Reserve wine. However, I order some wine recently to be send to a relative as a gift. It was sent to me at the billing address instead of my relative at the shipping address. Once I received the confirmation in an email the wine was already in Miami UPS building where I live instead of in Virginia where it should have gone. I call the next day that shipping was open, spoke to someone who assured me it was rerouted. It still arrived at my house that night. I have made two more phone calls, each time promised a call back which I did not get. I am trying my fourth call today. Even thought the tour and store are pleasant I cannot say anything good about their customer service for online orders. I feel like they dont seem to care much about correcting their mistake. Addendum: My next call to the winery put me in touch with a very nice employee by the name of Mallory who not only helped but took care of everything while we were on the phone. They shipped a new order to the correct address and allowed me to keep the wine that came to me by mistake.

Last Saturday we took what turned out to be a very nice wine tasting tour. After the tour we purchased 2 bottles of Chard, 2 Cabs and 2 Petite Sirah. All very good wines. When paying we didnt notice what was being placed in a very convenient cloth "six-pack" carry bag that we were handed, nor did we check what was in the bag at the time. When we got home we discovered there were 2 Chards, 2 Cabs and 2 Pinot Grigios! No Petite Sirah! Was this a bait-and-switch? Heres the part you are not going to believe. Called them up on Monday morning to let them know what happened. Talked to a live person and after I was issued an apology I was told that the warehouse manager would call me back. Yeah right I thought. About an hour later I received a return call. After the warehouse manager apologized profusely for the mistake I was told that they would send me 2 bottles of the Petite Sirah at no charge, and please keep the 2 Pinot Grigios on them! On Tuesday the very next day UPS delivered 2 bottles of Petite Sirah to my home. Wow! Now thats customer service and then some. I still cant believe it. Thank you San Sebastian Winery you now have a customer for life.

We went for the Winery tour recommended by my mom. We checked the website "Complimentary Tours and Wine Tasting run about every 20-25 minutes, lasting Approximately 45minutes in length and offered seven days a week." When we arrived this was a self guided tour aka walk from spot to spot and get a sip of various wines w/o any information on the wines or the winery. We tried to call ahead to check, but could never get a person on the line. The folks pouring the tastings just stood, did not interact with us or anyone else. No talking and very curt answers to questions.Would NOT recommend. The wine was good the Tour was soo poor.

(Disclaimer: Central FL visitor here for a trip. Only did tour and tasting on 1st floor). Despite arriving LATE TO THE TOUR, we were STILL PERMITTED THE TASTING. Therefore I only expected 4 samples… NOT 10! (Although it AMOUNTED TO A MERE SPLASH… YAY). Besides the typical, they EVEN FEATURED ROSA, SHERRY, AND A PORT! Unfortunately WE FLEW THROUGH THE TASTING I didn’t have time to ponder the flavors. One day I’d love to take the free tour. My brief encounter with the 3RD FLOOR REVEALED A LARGE, COMFY AREA partially open to the sky with great views of the town while you sip some drinks.

This place is great. Tour's happen about every 15 minutes, are educational, and fun. After watching a short movie about the company's history, you are shown the barrels and tanks. After that comes the real fun: wine tasting. Let me tell you, we tried nine different wines and left with a great buzz. We ended up buying four different wines that day but you are not asked to or obligated to buy anything. Highly recommend this visiting this place. The great thing is that this winery is one of the 24 sightseeing sights that the Ripley's Red Train's stop at.

I am absolutely disgusted by the customer service I received today. I planned on taking a friend to the winery for a tasting. I have had your wine before and hearing good reviews from others; she was pretty excited. According to your website wine tastings end at 6pm; so we arrived at 5:30pm do to work schedules. And the man behind the counter gave nothing but attitude to my friends and I when I asked what time do the tastings end because the website says 6pm. I will never return to the San Sebastian Winery, and will tell all my friends not to do so.

There is something here for everyone, even people who dont typically like wine. Free informative tour and tastings. Ive been twice and the first time was a full tour with history of the building and the process of making wine and tasting with instructions on swirling, sniffing, the whole deal. The second trip was on a weekend and maybe it was just busier, but they did a self guided tour and tasting, which was much faster, but still delicious. This is also a trolley stop, in case you dont want to drive after ;)
