Been meaning to write a review here for a long time, so its gonna be a bit long, but here it goes.... This is one of my favorite courses in the area. By no means is it a difficult course, or even the nicest one around, but its fun to play, is very affordable, and has a great atmosphere. The after 2:00 PM deal of $45 for 18 w/cart is a great deal ($30 during pre-season!!) which is one of the main reasons its one of my favorite courses around. The course lay-out is decent, incredibly flat, all the holes are right next to each other and not too many water hazards. Its a fairly short course as well, but has a lot of dog legs which keep it challenging. The lay-out results in very few lost balls or balls out of play because even on a vicious hook/slice, youre just playing it from a different fairway. Great for beginner/intermediate golfers, but still provides challenges for the better golfers. Bar at the clubhouse has a great view of the 18th fairway/green, various TVs, and a full bar. Everyone there is really nice and helpful, they have a beer cart (with reasonable prices) and outdoor cook-out area at the turn for burgers/dogs. Really cant go wrong with this place, not as nice/challenging as Sandy Burr down the street, but significantly more affordable, really laid back atmosphere, course is usually in good condition, and fun to play. Definitely prefer it over the other local courses in this tier of course [Robert T. Lynch (awful course lay-out), Fresh Pond (only 9 holes, $$$$), Leo J Martin (barely a golf course), Pine Meadows (9 holes, bad condition)]. Wayland takes the cake, best affordable course in the metro west, hands down.

Update 8/13/17 Course is still was of the best in the area. Ownership is always their on weekends and are great and customer service at bar, clubhouse and starter are awesome. Course is always in great shape and especially this year is some of the best I have seen her. Fairways are plush, greens are medium to quick and roll real nice, rough is rough and thick. Not an overall hard course but still challenging for sure. Very flat so it is a great walking course and this is weekly go to course. Course can be a little slow on the weekend if you get out after 10 am but what course isnt these days that allow walking in the morning where carts arent mandatory. The course is worth it. They seem to have a great inner club that is competetive with leagues and tournaments. Also see they have an area for junior clinics. Overall great club that is not overpriced that you will always get good conditions on.

Nice little well maintained course, but price is a little high and you may deal with hot-headed regulars. Ive been playing there about four years at least five times a year. Its close to home, forgiving for higher handicap players, and staff has always been great. Have noticed the local regulars get hot headed multiple times. One older guy in particular acts like he owns the place. Once hit left off the tee towards the next teebox and three of us shouted "fore". They dont move and ball nearly hits their cart. I always like to walk up an apologize in cases like this. I walk up to do so and am immediately threatened and intimidated. They were fairly large/macho guys too. Not sure Ill be golfing their as much, as it was a fairly scary experience. Too bad, as the course is great otherwise, though more a $35 course than $50, as others have noted.

For a quick early morning round on a course that isnt overly challenging this is the place. Staff are fantastic too. Pro shop doesnt sell much in the way of products so come prepared.

Always a good round at Wayland Golf, conditions are good, not too crowded. Pricing is competitive wit other local courses.

Not the best course condition. Layout is pretty mediocre, although the green fee is pretty competitive.
