Great course for 18 handicap players or better. This course will eat up novice players. Get lots of practice first and then you can fully enjoy this gem of a course. I absolutely love playing this course and a few things bother the hell out of me is when I get to a well maintained green and find several ball marks... really? I try to fix as many as I can, but it slows down my game and also gets following players upset. This is mainly why I dislike novice players at a great course. They dont have many bunkers, but if you ever get in one, odds are youre in a footprint. Maybe Ill apply for a job there and work for free to police this course and get rid of these offenders. If you dont appreciate this course and dont rake the traps or fix your ball marks... dont play here, please.

This course is terrible. Its a public course and Im sorry to say, most amateur weekend golfers are not single digit handicappers that can land a ball in a 10 yard wide target from anywhere. Thats what you need to do on this course. The "rough" is reeds 4 feet high…if your ball goes off course even a little bit, its gone. The greens, if you finally hit them, are ridiculously fast to give you an added bit of frustration. I admit…im not good enough for this course, but even if i was, I wouldnt play here. There are many nicer courses in Mass.

The Meadow is the best public golf course on the North Shore, period. Its challenging, fun, and offers an array of elevation changes. If you go out with a group of 20+ handicappers and have never seen the course, youre in for a long day. A group of <20 handicappers will love it though. Highly recommend!

Its a tough course if youve never played it before. Theres a few holes that can eat you up, but overall its the best municipal course on the North Shore. You just need to know when to leave the driver in the bag. Its true about ball marks on the greens, people that dont fix their ball marks suck!

Best public course north of Boston. Challenging for any level of golfer. Greens are always in great shape and normally very fast. Holes 4, 5 (from back tees), 8, 13 and 18 are noteworthy. Bring your entire game. There are no easy outs at The Meadow. Staff is great. Peter runs a nice club.

Very nice public course. Beautiful scenery and wide variety of terrain. If youre not in shape, though, better get a cart as there are significant elevation changes and long stretches between green and next tee. You also need to hit accurately or you will lose balls and slow down play.

Wonderful challenging course, a pride for Peabody. Well run with very friendly staff that treat you like it was a private club.

This is a real golf course and can be a tough challenge from the back tees. Very reasonably priced and a good setting.
