Full disclaimer- I live-in Lowell. What I love about the national park is the fact that it is contained in a real working breathing place. It isnt one of those pretend reenactment history museums with actors and gifts shops. Lowell is real and a little rough around the edges. The rangers help to unpeel the layers of the past with boat, walking tours and hands on exhibits to show the industrial age, its development and the results on real places and people.

Excellent park that is a hidden jewel in the greater Boston area. Our family of 6 spent a long day here exploring the museums, eating a picnic at the park, and taking a free hour and half guided trolley tour. Make sure you go online to see what is open depending on the season. We cant wait to return and see all that we missed!

The Lowell historical park is a wonderful place to visit with family and friends or solo. I myself have visited with family and we loved it so very much. We revisit whenever we have free time its a great Park...lots of history and the kids loved it so did we.. Check it out you will definitely enjoy your trip and or visit!!!

A fun way to spend the day learning about the past. To get there, dont listen to Google maps, input the actual address of the visitor center, 304 Dutton Street (for parking and intro exhibits). From there they can direct you towards the cotton mill ($6 adults) as well as the old mill girls dormitory (free).

Good place to visit for a day-trip from Boston. The historical aspects of this town are fascinating, but as its all museums, there really isnt all THAT much to see. Definitely go check out the Boott Cotton Mills Museum, and afterwards swing by the Pawtucket Dam/Falls for a great view.

The entire downtown, with many other locations of Lowell is a National Park. You and your family will learn of the birth of Industry in the US and the history which flowed from that. Trolley, Boat rides, weaving floor at the Boot mills and a generally preserved 19th Century ambiance.

A nice place for an outdoor concert! I loved the fact that the venue was well maintained, the restrooms were not porta potties but clean, well stocked bathrooms, parking easily accessible, and it was a wonderful all around experience at the Amos Lee show!

Easy walking city, lovely little parks tucked into surprising spaces, plenty of street parking although the parking kiosks and numbered spaces is confusing. We visited Quilt Museum and Whistler Museum. Will go back for the National Historic Park sites.

Very nice historic area! My family visits a couple times a year to do the canal walk. Great historical placards with the history of Lowell as an industrial city. Ita a fun activity to get kids out and moving while learning about history.

A definite treasure in the city of Lowell. Lots of knowledge on the canal system, maps and canal tours. Excellent information about the mill history of Lowell and its place in the industrial revolution and fabric industry.

Great place that all children should be taken on the various tours they offer.. Learn the history of your city along with the start of the industrial revolution.. Great fishing in the canals and local rivers as well...

Sooo Im from Lowell. Inherent bias. Seriously though, the park is nice and the tour is so much fun. I went so much for field trips but I still go back. Ride the trolly it just adds to the whole experience.

Amazing see the early beginnings of the Industrial Revolution. Hard to believe they accomplished so much so early in our develping nation. It is so well preserved with looks that still work today.

I good look into the part of Lowell. They have a floor of the building set up like it was in the early 1900s, and a ton of pieces from the formal mill. The staff was also super informative.

Great place to run in the morning before everyone is out. Close to the river there is a family of rabbits that are usually out at that time.
