A very underrated course with excellent management and employees who are always friendly and helpful. A little on the shorter side, this course is almost always in very good shape, and is a fair test of golf. There are plenty of challenges (especially #6 and #15), and a few really beautiful views (like on the #13 tee box looking back at #12, #16, and #17). The Montgomery County (MCG Golf) courses are all well managed and offer nice membership options, and most are very nice courses, but Laytonsville has become my favorite.

For some reason, Laytonsville blocks off the earliest tee times on M, W and F to a group that appears to be a fivesome or sixsome. They are slow players, and have been obnoxious with no sense of etiquette. I have had to wait behind them several times and they dont allow my much faster group to play through. The management at Laytonsville must be taking money under the table from this group, because the online tee time is always blocked off for this group of @$$holes.

A fun, extraordinarily well maintained course! Ive lived in Maryland for over year and in that time, played several different courses in Howard County, Anne Arundel, Eastern Shore but this is my first in Montgomery County. What a gem! Ive played private courses that were not as well maintained and groomed as Laytonsville. My hats off to the manager, staff, and greenskeepers. Ill be back for more and Ill be bringing my family and friends.

Fairly Simple course to play and was amazed how short a lot of the holes were, but still very pleasant course and the staff is extremely helpful & friendly. Will plan to play again in the springtime when all of the leafs are blown away and gone. Tough to find your balls in the rough with all the fall leaves on the ground , but thats going to happen at any course.

Not a long course, but penalizes bad shots. I generally play blue tees on the front and whites on the back. Hole 6 is a beaut. Like every MGC course, very reasonably priced. Can get jammed up on the weekends. Play the right tees and you can get around quickly.
