This review is for the blue course only... I play about once a week here and its a fair course for the money. $32 walking is about the cheapest around. Add $15 to ride though and youre paying $50 after tax and at that price Id rather play numerous other courses in Northern Va that are significantly better for the same price or < $20 more. I would strongly recommend other courses if youre riding. My least favorite qualities of the course are 1) despite being on an island, there are zero water holes 2) there is zero elevation change and 3) the greens are extremely unchallenging. There is maybe 2-3 greens on the entire course with break on them and, while some holes have decent bunkers, others are completely plain and lacking. Overall, I would rank it a slightly below average municipal course compared to other munis Ive played. Fair warning about rain checks - they scam you. Ex. pay $32 (weekend rate) for 18 walking and get a rain check for the back 9 due to weather. You dont get to just come back and play 9 another day. Apparently the front 9 is $22 of the $32 total you already paid so you only get a $10 credit back. When you come back you have to pay the full price of 9 holes ($22 on weekends) so you still have to pay $12 to play the other 9 that you already paid for. Results in paying $44 to play 18 holes if you get rained out. It makes no sense and rather than admit it is a crappy thing the course does to squeeze a little extra money out of patrons the pro shop will try to convince you that the logic makes sense and it isnt a rip off.

Been going here for almost 4 years. Pretty much since I started golfing. The course is good to get your strokes in, chipping range (though I dont think worth the money you pay) is good to work on your short game. Putting greens are usually in decent condition. As for the driving range....The place has gone down hill significantly in the last two years. Especially this past year. Half of the lights in the drive bays dont work so people are scrambling to find an open bay that has light. Half of the range is roped off because its falling apart. Doors dont close because the magnetic latch is broken. Plastic covering is cut up. The flags you aim at Im positive hasnt been changed or revamped in 4 years. Guys, if you are going to boast that you have 100 drive bays, make sure there is 100 available. Theres literally a sign out front that says this. One of the starters boasted that they turned over 600,000 rounds last year. Invest some of that money back into the course and most of all the range. It would get 4 stars in that case. The crew there is for the most part really nice. The pros theres are super nice.

Overall a very good venue. The courses are nice, driving range is large and has a ton of bays, three nice putting greens, and theres plenty of parking. On the downside, the range is entirely mats and theres no easily accessible area to practice chipping or your short game. You can rent time on the practice holes if you want to practice your short game, but theres limited availability. Dont leave your clubs for regripping if the usual club repair guy isnt there. Ive had him replace a few shafts in the past and he replaced my putter grip once. Hes fast and does a good job. I took my irons and woods (12 clubs) in today and he wasnt around. The guy behind the desk insisted he could regrip them and it would take 30-45 min. I returned 45 min. later and they werent done. Someone else was at the desk and he told me he would check on them. 20 min. later when I returned he had no idea what I was there for and hadnt bothered to check. The clubs were returned to me 80 min. after I dropped them off and the work was sloppy with grip tape sticking out the bottom of most grips. I took them home and trimmed it myself.

Last year, I tried to review this place, but accidentally reviewed the minigolf place. Heres my take: $13 for 9 holes in DC. They have pre-sunrise tee-times, so you can be at work before anyone else after having played golf. Its like youre a surfer, but youre playing a real game, because you keep score. Speaking of score. The White Course is short. Every green is elevated, and few putts actually break. Bunkers sometimes are water hazards, and the fairway sometimes holds standing water (look at a map, this thing is on a tiny island in a big river). If youre an expert golfer youll be bored. If you want a golf fix for cheap, before or after work, you cant beat this place.

This is a fun municipal golf course. 2 nine holes courses and a 18 hole. I played the 18 hole. The native grass and the tree lined fairways make this flat but challenging course an enjoyment to play! Very easy to walk if you are looking for some exercise! Greens are not perfect but are very fair! I walked-on on a Monday morning in early June with no problem. Very close to the National Mall, I could see the Washington Monument on most every hole, Jefferson Monument popped out from behind a tree on occasion. If you have someone doing the conference thing in DC and need to kill some time playing golf this is great choice! Even the locals do not know this place is here!

I dont usually leave reviews, but my experience here was so awful I felt compelled to do so. They have an incredibly rude staff. They were abrasive and unprofessional. They overloaded the course and even though I had booked a tee time for a quiet morning of golf by myself, I was told I had to either join a group of strangers--who no doubt would have been equally as annoyed as I would have been--or wait an hour. At this point I had already paid, too, which was the most annoying part. I guess Im out $20. A waste of money and a waste of a morning. I wont be going back.

One of a few public golf courses in DC area. Convenient location for the residents in DC area, other than that, the course is not very nice. It is plain and not difficult with no water hazard. Cart paths are unpaved so there are a lot of dusts when the cart moves. It is especially annoying when you are walking and the partner joined is riding. Driving range is sheltered, so you do not need to worry about the weather. Range balls are the worst. They are one-piece ball and very hard. You can hit softer range balls of two-piece in most of the other driving ranges.

Single worst golf experience of my life. After hole 2, there were 12 players waiting to tee of. 12! There was a total of 19 player in one hole. The ranger would not speed anyone up and wasnt doing his job. He just explained pace of play was slow. I could see that. I finished a total of 3 holes. I paid for a complete round of 18. I left after hole 3 and asked for a refund. I was give a short no for an answers by the pro shop staff. Very in professional. Will not be golfing here again. Its a golf course, not an amusement park. Run it that way.
