I love to hike and simply spend time out in nature. This location is pretty much perfect for all such activities. The large expansive prairie style lay out beyond the forested areas is idyllic for picnics or adventure and exploration! It seems to transcend one from being in a small forest preserve to being almost childlike, as you look around you lose yourself and forget that you are triangularly surrounded by highway systems and busy streets. Certainly among one of the more beautiful and serene forest preserves in northern Illinois.

It would be wonderful if it wasnt for the man with the vicious Rottweilers whos there every day scaring the daylights out of everyone and making it a most unpleasant experience. Im trying to find where I can report this because Im tired of being terrified that my little dog is going to get her head chewed off.

I am regular here for biking. Its very calm and quite. Shelters are available for parties but no loud noise is allowed, which is a good thing. Two very good trails connected each other in a figure of 8 one short and one long. This place is very safe as well. You might want to be careful with deer though.
