Worst experience ever. Beautiful place but sad to say the service was horrible and the gentleman behind the counter was rude and pushy. Went with family sat at the bar and waited patiently for 20min before being asked "What do you want" then before we answered he told us to hold on so he could clean tables and try helping somebody he must of known. Then when he came back told us he only had 4 of the 9 wines they offered. Which they were blushes, and we wanted something that was dry red, so we decided to leave and that is when he became really rude to us in front of other people. He said "What, you dont like blushes!!" We said we were looking for something dryer. He replied "Well, dont let the door hit you!!". Highly NOT recommended.

The wine tasting room was very nice and the staff was very knowledgeable about the wines, process and area. We toured the entire facility and had a glass of wine on the outside deck. Completely gorgeous facility. Our only complaint that we had was that the pipped music was horrific. Here you have this beautiful serene setting and this music blaring and grating. Surely you could pick a track more fitting to the atmosphere. We would liked to have stayed for another glass, but the music really drove us away. Work on that will you guys? We would like to come back, but the music made it an unpleasant experience. We wanted to give it 4 stars, but just couldnt do it.

This was my second visit to the winery while traveling from MA. What I enjoy are regional wines, made from grapes that are grown to withstand the climate of the area they are grown and not standard "popular wines". Being poured wines while hearing how the grape is grown is processed is always exciting and interesting rather than larger wineries that may just give you a brief descriptor. Priced competitively, the wines were delicious and refreshing from dry to semidry. The conversation makes the tasting much more enjoyable. Also, it was nice to be remembered from visiting last year. Definitely a stop worth making again on a future visit.

From all of the wine tours we went on in the Galena area the weekend we were there; this was the most professional and enjoyable by far. Kyle knew the exact details of the grapes that went into each wine and the history of every bottle - it was very nice listening and tasting each wine. The tasting area is very comfortable and the wine was excellent. We visited over the labor day weekend and the staff was juggling about 5 tastings at once and we still received very personable service. The grounds were by far the best looking (compared to the other 3 tastings in that immediate area). I will go back. P.S. the wine was very tasty!

We arrived just before closing in what is really the off season. The owner welcomed us. He was very personable, was able to explain each wine in detail. It was very informative as well as fun. Yes, as someone mentioned, they were all out of whites. And though that may be have been disappointing, I didnt see it as a fault. They use only ONLY THEIR OWN GRAPES. Other vineyards bring grapes in from California or Michigan or other places. To me, thats a little misleading. At Rocky Waters, the wine is from right there or they dont service. I liked that idea a lot! Buy Local!

It was hard for my group to actually choose something we did like about this place. Dont get me wrong, it was a beautiful place and the atmosphere was wonderful. However, the wine is completely horrible. We didnt like a single one we tasted. We felt they all tasted the same. They were also completely out of white wine so that was really disappointing.

Had a great time! Came in on a Sunday afternoon and was offered a tasting of all their wines for $6. The wines had very different tastes and we found plenty to take home with us. The area is gorgeous and the owners were extremely friendly and inviting. Will definitely come back! Definitely planning on staying in the cabin on their grounds!

Beautiful place... horrible service. If youre young the guy at the counter wont even pay attention to you. The wine was not good... And when he asked if we wanted to buy 3 bottles to make our tasting free (we said no) he was completely belligerent and acted offended. Will never go back.

Awesome winery, tasting, and location. Jared and Phyllis are wonderful people. Made us feel very welcome and gave us an absolutely fantastic selection of wines for tasting. We ended up walking out with half a case and plans to return in less than 2 months. Thank you so much!!!!

One of nicer wineries in the Galena area. Nestled in the rolling hills of northwest part of Illinois. Very clean and with a very knowledgeable gentleman who explained the wines of the area. Will definitely return the next trip to Galena.
