This park has gone to the dogs. Really. There are sports fields, a playground and a community center. But, if you visit the one thing that stands out is that this is really just one bigt dog park. Despite all the dogs, the owners seem to do a good job of picking up after their pets. The rules posted at the entrance remind everyone to keep their dogs on a leash at all times. In reality its rare to see any dogs on leashes at any time. In the Spring of 2015 a Brookhaven city councilman told me they would soon be cracking down on unleashed pets. Its December 2015 as I write this and such a crackdown has yet to happen. Brookhaven has been holding public meetings in recent months to get input on how to improve all city parks for those who use them (both two and four legged visitors.) You can expect some improvements and changes in 2016 based on the input from those meetings. Four stars from the human point of view. Five stars if you are a dog looking to socialize. RICK

One complaint is the dog owners who refuae to keep their pets on leash,,, no matter hoe well behaved you believe your dog to be there is always the possibility of something going wrong in an uncontrolled environment. Yes youe dog listens to you and loves you this is why leashing them is important because that love sometimes equates to protecting you, so do us All a favor and Keep Your Dogs on the Leash,, A dogwalker like myself has to be responsible for someone elses dog has more liability than a the normal dog owner,, so be considerate xoxoxox Leash Your Dog In Public Places , unless its an ACTUAL DOG PARK.

Weird amount of trash all around the place when we were there, including lots of what looked like old construction debris. Hard to understand why no one has ever cleaned that up. The childrens playground equipment we saw was in disrepair, with rusty exposed metal, and we would not allow our son to use it. We had an okay time and its obviously popular but Ive never seen a park in this poor shape.

This is literally a dog park. I arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday evening and there were approximately 60 dogs in a 3 or 4 acre field running and chasing each other and greeting each other and it was just an awesome spectacle. My dog client and I had a blast. I was like a kid in a candy store. I dont recall seeing any children. Just a lot of furry children. Cant wait to go back.

Our absolute favorite (dog) park! Though technically dogs are not allowed off leash it is exception to see one on. Tons of space to enjoy yours and others pets and green space. Theres usually ultimate frisbee on Sunday afternoon. The water is turned off during the late fall & winter, bring water for your furry friend if unsure. Also, there are no public restrooms.

This is basically a dog park, and Im completely okay with that. Since its not fenced, all the dogs are extremely well behaved and the owners pick up after their dogs really well. Its nice to have so much room for all the dogs to play, and its not too muddy either. If youre afraid of dogs or arent a huge fan of them, I wouldnt recommend this park though.

Loved spending time at this park with #NoFussGus. Its infrastructure definitely needs updating as bathrooms are permanently locked & paved trails are breaking apart. Gus loved the elevation on its perimeter trail & the big open field where he chased balls with other well behaved pups. Owners are responsible and nice. This is the Best dog park in ATL!

Only place in Atlanta where dogs can run free. The city however does not seem to realize what a treasure the park is. They are constantly trying to change it so it will be as lousy as the rest of Atlantas parks. Obviously i am a dog lover and understand that tired dogs are good dogs!

Heaven for my babies (dogs.) Would be there everyday,if not for distance. Responsible, loving dog owners. Plenty of room to throw a ball,frisbee. Occasional threat of cars broken into,from the marta station across street: so stay aware. 99.9% responsible dog parents♡

Unofficial off the leash dog park-best place to bring your dog! Everyone that I have encountered is very respectful and responsible. Most people clean up after their dogs and keep a close eye on them. A great family environment if kids are okay with dogs.

Not a true dog park, old run down public park that the locals have deemed dog park. Its pretty awesome. Dont know how it truly came about but so glad we ran upon this. Great walking trail and lots of things for the pups to sniff

Pretty good field to play sports. Wish Google would edit this because it is not a dog park. There are actually signs at the entrance that say to keep your dog on a leash. Everyone treats it like a dog park.

Unofficial off-leash dog park! The best place to bring you furry friend to run some of the energy off. The part is not totally fenced in so if your dog is not well behaved this is not the place for them.

Pretty big open area. Swings and playground for kids is pretty small. The path for a stroller can be pretty bumpy - its like a paved sidewalk with a lot of potholes. A lot of unleashed dogs too

Bathrooms are permanently locked, but nice and big with asphalt walking trails. Do not park at the building up front! That isnt park parking, I think they tow.

This is an enormous park, excellent for off leash k9 play which attracts a wide diversity of friendly people. I highly recommend it! Dont forget your #2 bags.

Brookhaven this is the best dog park in the state. Dont screw that up. There are other parks in the area that people can go too if they dont like dogs.

Beautiful spot in a lovely neighbor, but parking is atrocious. Gems need to be better kept as well. Definitely could be upgraded. (See Brook Run Park.)

The ground crew leaves the undergrowth here to run wild. It allows water to pond and mages the mosquitos unbearable. I expect more from boorkhaven.

Great park to bring your dog to. Be aware there are only porta johns and one water fountain which does have a dog fountain.

Visited for the slinging wings festival...Parking is a bit of a bother....not many places to park. But the park was clean.
