Bobby Jones would roll over in his grave if he saw these course conditions. The greens are not green, they are brown. Not just brown patches of grass, but entire surface areas look like they have been set on fire, especially on the 2nd. The sand traps were full of water and mosquitoes. There were a couple of tee boxes where finding a flat place to stand was a challenge. If your shot strays off-line and you are in the woods...forget it. There is so much undergrowth, you need a weed whacker to to find your ball. The worst part is the geese. There are a lot of geese. I mean, A LOT! They are loud, they are in the way of your shots (they hang out on the greens...im not kidding) and their poop is on the greens (maybe that’s why the grass is so dead). I had putts on two different greens that had a large amount of goose poop in my line. I dont know what the rule is on this and whether I could move my ball. You cant just brush goose poop away like a leaf, it is stuck to the grass. Even if you do sweep it to the side, the grass is still sticky and slows down you putt. It isnt hard to get rid of geese. Let a couple dogs off the lease and see if those geese stick around. they wont. Also, the A/C in the clubhouse was either busted or not turned on. So, dont expect to have a beer and cool off after your round.

Played the afternoon of Sept 13th for the first time. I was very impressed and will be back. It is an older style short course with relatively small greens, but the greens have been updated with the new Champion Bermuda and are in awesome shape. They are fast and true with very little sigh of wear. The fairways are in good shape and tee boxes were good overall. There is no driving range or practice area other than a large putting green out front. There is not a lot of signage so for a first timer it can be a little confusing where to go next. There are a lot tee boxes, fairways, and greens in a close proximity so I can imagine it may be a little scarey on a busy weekend day with balls flying near by. However that makes it a great course to walk and not too many elevation changes. I followed a walking two some and finished in about 3.5 hours. It is in the middle of a big city so be sensible and keep your doors locked and watch your clubs. For a course in this condition that has online specials with cart for under $25, it is worth 5 stars. If you like long courses, huge greens, bent grass with ball marks, a big practice facility and driving range or big houses lining the fairways you may want to find another course.

This is one of the most outstanding municipal golf courses in the country. A few years ago they installed brand new Championship Bermuda greens, identical to the ones the PGA Tour made East Lake install a couple of years ago. The bunker complexes were also renovated as was the historic clubhouse. And check out the active hawk population. How often to you get to see red tail hawks flying around with 80 story skyscrapers in the background? The old growth trees, planted as saplings to line the fairways 80 years ago, are remarkable. Its a little short at 6,000 yards from the back tees, but thats a good thing for high handicappers. And low handicappers? Have a blast, a single digit handicap player has a decent shot at shooting par 70 everytime he tees it up. Classic old time design thats very walkable and very inexpensive, even for non city residents. It can get a little crowded during the good weather months, so it would be a good idea to go for a very early tee time if playing on the weekends.

This was my first golf outing of 2013, and it was very enjoyable, from reserving a tee time in person a day in advance, a pleasant starter interaction, playing with a couple of cordial, well-mannered men on a beutiful spring day. The course is in vastly better condition than when I first played here nearly a decade ago as part of a Georgia Tech outing. The greens were actually better than the ones on a mens pro tour event a couple of weeks ago. Kudos to the groundskeepers. My only recommendation would would be for encouraging play to move along faster. Our round took approximately 4 1/2 hours, in part due to a riding foursome in front of us that had more than a hole open in front of them. We were walking. We were not asked to play through at any time during the round.

For $32 a person, enjoy sandy greens, water hazard sand traps, and mud fairways. This extravagant course was in such great shape that i could only manage to play 5 holes before i was worn out from how amazing it was. For real, this is the worst course i have ever played. And i have played some pretty bad courses... I wouldnt play on this course if it was free. I asked for a refund, and i was given a voucher for 9 holes. The snooty college kid at the pro shop acted stunned that i was telling him what terrible shape his course was in. Terrible customer service in my perspective. I would highly recommend going anywhere else.. You would have more fun at a driving range.

Bobby Jones Golf Club is the place you go to play when youre cutting out of work early, or taking a "half day". Its conveniently located close to just about everything from Midtown, Westside, and Buckhead. I think the reason people see it as challenging is because its short and the lay out is kind of confusing. You can be standing on a tee box and not know what direction to hit the golf ball, which makes the game even harder than it already is. It gets really busy and you can easily wind up with a 4 hour game, but all in all, its worth it. Relatively cheap and ample parking help seal the deal.

This a great course! I give it 3 stars because it is obviously not a prestiges country club, or some well known public course, but it is very good for what it is. I am scratch golfer and this course is great for beginners and skilled golfers. The course is only 5800 yards.... But! The layout was very well thought out and there is a lot of places you can get in trouble if you play it aggressively. I am a big fan of courses that make you think about your tee shot, and where there are a few options on how to play the hole. Im a fan and will definitely play it again.

Watch your clubs at Bobby Jones. got mine stolen literally from the back door while I went into pay for my round. I was inside a total of 3 minutes and when I walked out back again they were gone. I did not get a round in but the staff at the course was more than helpful and assisted me with everything that I needed after what happened. If I was rating on staff alone then it would be 5 star. course i cant comment on just my experience and wanted to warn future golfers to watch their clubs!
