Pro shop failed to tell us that we would be the 1st tee time behind a large scramble when we called. Arrived at the course and found a beehive of activity associated with the scramble. Big shock, not too happy. The scramble teams filled up the front 9 with 2 groups on #1 in front of us. Pretty upset about the whole situation. Greens were the worst I have played on in a very long time. The front 9 greens at least had grass, but they were long and extremely slow, like putting on Velcro. All but one or two back nine greens had multiple large, irregular dead spots that had been filled in with green sand. Terrible to the point of being nearly unplayable. Layout is good and the fairways were OK, but had sparse grass and a number of dead spots. Definitely will not be back.

The golf course was closed for 4 days in January before being re-opened under the new management of Stonebrook, LTD; the same company that has owned/run Stonebrook GC in Pace, FL, for 25 years, and Tanglewood in Milton. This team is a group of "hands-on" golf professionals! Absolutely dedicated to making Marcus Pointe the premier golf club in the area. Membership gives full golf privileges at Stonebrook and Tanglewood, also! (at only $130/month, you cant beat it!,,,,snow-birds welcome!). The restaurant (The Pointe Grille) has opened serving low-cost (but delicious!) breakfast and lunch (about $4 - $ 6 for breakfast; about $5 - $7 for lunch). The course is in good shape for winter, but this group plans to have it greatly improved quite soon!).

I play here at least three times a month, the most of any other course. The staff is friendly and the facilities are well maintained. The driving range is a little short, but the practice greens are very nice. The course seems to handle rain pretty well, and is typically not soggy too long after a shower. The greens can become fairly hard in the middle of a dry spell, but are pretty nice after it rains.

As a beginner level golfer I found it very user friendly and enjoyed the elevation and undulations in the fairways. Great course, great value! Because I work there I get the opportunity to play often. Easy to understand why weve been voted PNJs Best of the Bay Best Area Golf Course four times in recent years. Biased and proud!

Just played yesterday...the course was in fine shape... especially with all the rain we have been having. Greens were a little shaggy but again with all the rain not to slow.
