One of two first-built golf courses in the Greater Daytona Beach area , this landlocked course once was part of an elegant resort and upon which the likes of Rockefeller, Ford and other notable early-20th century families played. Today, with the layout still much like it was "yesterday," the course does not offer monstrous yardages and those who regularly play at 7,000-plus-yards might be inclined to dimiss the 6,250-yard maximum yardage as being akin to an "executive" course. Like the cover of a book betraying what is found within, Riviera plays far harder than one might otherwise imagine. More than one scratch golfer has found this tight par-71 course to be more than challenging and, indeed, this course has been a professional-level schedule staple since before the days of Ben Hogan and continues to draw many past and present PGA Tour winners to test its greens. Whether in the pro-shop, on-site restaurant or on the fairways, golfers will rarely find a friendlier staff or membership. For what it is worth, the above was authored by a sports reporter whose beat includes professional golf.

Riviera Is a great place to play golf they have a great junior golf program the staff is the best. I have played their annual Power tournament and consider it to be the best ran tournament by far I have ever played in. The course is not long but will challenge you with club selection due to the sea breeze. The greens are in great shape all the time the members are very friendly as well. I think Mike Boss and staff do a fantastic job green fees are very reasonable.

Ive played this short straight course while visiting in all seasons. Staff is nice & course fairways are kept well. Greens are suspect in summer but very easy to read. All the par 5s are reachable with the par 3s quite short as well. They dont take tee times but thats never a problem. Look for coupons in local paper & play for around $20. Definately worth it as a tune up for tougher courses at that rate. NO GPS/not enough yardage markers.

Very nice course and the people are VERY friendly. No tee times, but we were able to get out before 2:00 every day. Also, one price for any number of holes you want to play. Would have liked a 9 hole price. Fairways very nice as were the greens and tee boxes. Course was really green for March! This was our "go to" course while in Ormond By The Sea.

Old people yell at you while on putting green if they have driving range and chipping range shut shown late afternoon when its coolest, and your lightly chipping on putting green. They didnt know I won two golf tournaments, all they knew was how many beers theyve had and how to yell at someone younger who was forced to chip here respectfully.

Like there reputation. Very friendly .booked late night for next morning guy didnt see reservation. Told me your good grab a cart and go off when ready. Paired up with local member who was as friendly as he could be, besides beating me by 6 strokes. Not a long track but dont miss the fairway. Even first cut is thick

This course was terrific. I have never played a course that didnt take tee times but they made it work great. Malcolm the starter & the rest of the staff were very friendly. The golf course was in great condition. The layout was challenging but not too tough. Cant wait to play it again next time I am in Daytona Beach.

Dont be fooled by the first appearance of the clubhouse (which definately needs external face lift), the course is in great condition. Very well maintained. Driving range has clearly marked staggered yardages, but max out at 225 with a net just behind. Definate top 2-3 in Daytona Beach immediate area.

Starter was very abrupt and condescending also not a friendly welcome in the pro shop. You need to work on customer service. Not a good experience. Wont be going back and will tell fellow golfers not a friendly place
