I dont even know where to begin to describe my wonderful experience at Kapok. Of course I will begin with the location, such a beautiful venue, and the ceremony room, everyone is still talking about my "Fairytale" wedding;). Theres nothing like it in the Tampa Bay Area. I usually do not write reviews but weddings are so stressful and I know I read ALL of the reviews about my vendors during my wedding planning. Because I think the service you receive is the most crucial part of choosing a vendor I will describe my experience with Kapok and the way I was treated throughout the entire process. This is a bit lengthy but I hope it helps you:) From day 1 I met up with Rande and Nancy and I felt like they truly cared about my wedding and were there to listen to my ideas and plans. Throughout the process I felt supported, as if I was one of their own. Nancy made sure the entire process was stress free (is that even possible while planning a wedding?? haha). Nancy was my Day planner for the Day of the wedding. She showed up early in the morning and stayed till late at night. She is truly a life saver!! She treated me as if I was her own daughter, form making sure all of the vendors show up when they are supposed to, to making the ceremony room look spectacular just like I had described it! Not only that, she even made sure I get a glass of water during the ceremony because she noticed I was getting a bit wobbly. Weddings are her passion and you can really see that, for example; the draping company after they set up, accidently grabbed my menus which were to be displayed on the tables. When the Caterer arrived and had asked for the Menus Nancy quickly figured out that the Draping Co. must have accidently grabbed my Menus as they were packing their stuff up. She called the Draping Co. made sure they return back to Clearwater (from Tampa) to bring back the Menus. She was there throughout the entire day making sure my wedding is 100% disaster free. Another example, my flower girl had misplaced her flower basket, it was literally minutes before the event was to begin, Nancy went in the back grabbed a basket form the storage and made sure the ceremony begins on time. And ill never forget the time where I completely forgot to inform her that I will be having champagne flutes at my wedding (Although my wedding was Alcohol free) I still wanted sparkling juice in the flutes for presentation. The day of, the caterer approached Nancy about the sparking juice (which was not discussed with Nancy previously). Nancy had someone go out and get sparking juice for all of the guests at no charge to me. She said that it was my day and I should get it my way. She told me not to worry about a thing, I had no idea she would go out of her way to make sure my day is perfect! I cannot thank her enough for making my wedding day go from a possible disaster to a fairytale wedding I have always dreamed of. I believe every bride should be treated this way on her wedding day, it is stressful as it is and having people like Nancy who are so passionate and truly care is a blessing.

We had our wedding here last month and the venue is absolutely stunning, however, we had a bunch of issues while planning our wedding and on our wedding day. I sent various emails to my wedding coordinator that the Kapok provided (included in wedding package) and heard no response for months. The response that I did receive (eventually) was about our remaining balance being due. They apparently said that they emailed me back previously but it was the wrong email that I gave them... (mind you that they had the "right" email when inquiring about when the balance was due.) My first wedding coordinator no longer worked there and no one contacted me about it, which was a bit frustrating. I had to find out by eventually calling them to get the scoop on why Im getting no response. Everything is a la cart, which is fine, but there was no communication between the "second" wedding coordinator and the outside vendors (which I was told would happen). No one knew who was to cut the cake and no one knew whom was serving the champagne for the toast (our caterer is not licensed to do that). It was very unorganized and very embarrassing. The coordinator also had our caterer set up the buffet in the other room where the groom and groomsmen got dressed prior to the ceremony. There were clothes EVERYWHERE. Very embarrassing for our guests to walk through to get their meal. Like I said, the venue is absolutely stunning, but the lack of communication and being unorganized was so frustrating and embarrassing.

I went to tour the venue today. I called ahead of time to make sure my date would be available and whoever booked my appointment verified it. I met Nancy the next day and it started out wonderful. Working with her would have been amazing and the place was beautiful. I was about to book the venue when the manager said that a Monday would be impossible even though I was told the day before that it would be fine. When I spoke to her and explained how important the date was she claimed the minimum cost for the venue on a Monday would be $15,000! When I asked how much it was on other days she said about $3,500. She was extremely rude and demeaning. I cant imagine them keeping her as a manager. Her costumer service is horrible and she shouldnt be involved with any brides. She would just ruin the day.

We attended an event there last night. The venue is old yet has some classic charm. The food was the worst banquet food Ive ever had. The salads were set on the table many hours before we sat down to dinner. That was the best part of the meal. The entree was unidentifiable and tasted awful. There were no sauces or garnishes nor any attempt to make the food edible. If I ever end up there again, I will be sure to eat before we go.

The establishment is lovely. The staff is horrible. The recent switch of ownership is obvious. Its all about the money. Once they have the money you really see the service you paid for. And for the amount they are going for.... You can have a more intimate establishment with respect included rather than break the bank and get attitude from everyone there.

We just had our wedding 2/5. Everything and when I say everything was spot on! Cathy is an absolute perfectionist. On a scale of 1 to 10....I give the Kapok 1000. Thank you Cathy and your entire staff for making our day so special.

This is an event space in Clearwater. Its huge and interesting. A little dated and worn. It would make a great space for a party or reception. There are several fountains and statues around. A separate bar area.

Went for a wedding and reception. Fantastic staff, magical night for the bride and groom. Reception hall and the grounds are amazing. Had a wonderful time dancing the night away.
