Our excellent experience started when I called the campground to make the reservation. The woman who answered the phone was so polite, I was taken aback. She took our reservation without a credit card number--just the old fashioned name and phone number trust. When we drove around the corner to the park, we wowed by the view of the lake. We pulled into the campsite and we were greeted by peacocks everywhere. The staff was friendly when we checked in and we were soon on the way to our site. The park is huge, but only has 18 campsites--leaving lots of woods and flowers to cocoon your campsite. Our site was large, clean and had additional parking available. Water and electricity was included in the shockingly low price of $23 a night. The real selling point of the campground was the bike path. The Lake Apopka Loop Trail boasts 14.6 miles each way of the most breath taking of views. I did 8 miles in the morning before the rest of the word was up--from Magnolia Park Trail head to the Historic pump house and back I saw 17 alligators and at least 20 varieties of birds. We returned later and did 17.4 miles round trip. Although we had 14 and 10 year old kids with us, and we were all riding beach cruisers, the hard packed trail was easily manageable. There was a super clean Port-a-Potty at the 4 mile mark, but no water at the rest stations--and we were not properly prepared. Bring food and water with you if you are going to do the full 19.2 miles! Between the manicured lawns and the multiple playgrounds, this idyllic campground embodies the charm of the south. The old oak trees with hanging Spanish moss looks like a backdrop from a movie!

Okay so some crybaby complained about the peacocks their child was harassing and the peacock defend itself so now the peacocks are no longer here the mosquitoes will eat you alive so unless you bring 2 or 3 gallons of bug spray I wouldnt stay here and lets not forget the roaming cats that is by far the craziest thing Ive ever seen here the roaming cats are feeling running the part the peacocks and gone and mosquitoes are toting you off so I dont know what to tell you other than this is by far one of the worst parts for mosquitoes I have ever stayed in unless you Carol the park up in Georgia on Tybee Island which they tell you and they want you and they do spray this is my second time staying at this park and they are still no signs of anyone coming out and spraying

We loved staying here in the shady campground. Amenities always worked just fine (though i didnt use the bathhouse so cant comment on that). A bit of a pain that the sites didnt have sewage hookups but for the price its understandable. The playgrounds were stellar and a big hit with our four-year-old, although they both are fairly large-sized so even big kids will enjoy them. BEWARE that there was a gator in the drainage pond in the meadow, so keep an eye on your little ones. And of course.....those peacocks are pretty awesome. They will caw loudly and sound a little creepy, but that doesnt make them less awesome. Mostly RVs in attendance but there were a few long-term tenters, too.

Since no one else is I have decided to visit all the parks in my area and write quick reviews for those looking for a spot to play basketball. This park is solid, worth the drive Id say if you are within 15 minutes, down side is there is 1 court but it is full court and appears maintained, havent been there enough to know how serious the basketball is but looks like you can run a couple solid pick up games. Update, needs more ballers to come out, dudes be lying about when they really playing

This park has it all, several playgrounds, camping sites, pavilions, bathrooms, monthly and weekly activities, a walking trail, basketball and volleyball courts, soccer field, plenty of shade, a boat launch on the lake side and peacocks. Perfect for childrens birthday parties and close to any occasion. Wonderful views of lake Apopka. Rangers always present. Peaceful and safe place.

Los encargados de este lugar son muy descortés, nunca saludan y son racistas, sobre todo un señor moreno llenito y un americano que siempre trae una gorra(too grumphy)

Excellent Park. great open area with several kids play areas. a couple of bathrooms plus a campground area if you are interested. There is a bike trail on the edge of Lake Apopka. You will see a lot of alligators. They even have an area for you to drive near the lake, just ask the person in the office and they have a map.

Only a couple playgrounds, most of which are in the sun, and extremely hot to the touch for kids. I would rate it less bit the peacocks that freely roam added to the experience. I was hoping it was more of a park then a campground. Maybe if we wanted to be inside while outside I would have enjoyed this "park"

A hidden gem. My wife, children, and I love this park. Very peaceful and full of lovely shade trees. At least three playground areas I can think of and plenty of field for running around. Also, there is a campground, though we have not stayed there. It is right across the street from Lake Apopka, too.

Horrible place to camp at I put a reservation for today and they tell me I have until thrusday because someone before me reserved this spot and that all the other spots are all taken I advise everyone to pick a different place to camp unless you want to be told you have a limit of days to stay..

This is a beautiful park, but its also the trailhead for the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. You can walk or bike around most of the northern portion of the lake, and there is a great deal of wildlife to be seen along the walk, especially in the winter time. Highly recommended.

Nice lakefront park. For the more adventurous, theres a long walking trail leaving from there that takes you along side Lake Apopka. Teeming with wildlife including native birds of all kinds and of course... alligators. (Follow posted warnings and youll be fine...)

Nice park with lots of room for kids to run around. Wild peacocks roam free and provide a nice addition to the facilities. There are places to eat and bring the family for an afternoon at the park

We camp at Magnolia Park often and the sites are clean, shaded and very quiet. The dogs love to walk there and the peacocks roam free. I would recommend this park to everyone. Its wonderful.

This park is very dear to me, visited with my grandpa, before his passing. I look forward to camping here on a regular basis, as a memorable experience.

Beautiful lakefront park with lots of amenities for families and gatherings. Peacocks roaming the grounds add to the picturesque beauty of the setting.

This is one of the cleanest, most peaceful parks I have ever visited. Nice walking/jogging trail, wildlife, birds and the sunsets! Oh, the sunset!
