Thomas Jefferson has been honored beautifully in his memorial on the banks of the Potomac. His atheist endeavours are displayed by the fact that the memorial is covered in rain, which is from condensation, not god. (Believe it or not) An interesting part of the memorial was the fact that Jeffersons slaves were all frozen on carbonite. It was a very hands on experience in that at the touch of a button, students can bring individual slaves back to life. I had these slaves go to spy on the Kennedy Center, in order to see if my friend Osama became an understudy and saved his life. JESUS ON A BICYCLE! My bad, I think one of the slaves gave me pneumonia and I always say that when I cough. As I was saying earlier, it turns out they hire a trustworthy communist drug dealer to be the guarder of the grave of Mr. T. A major misconception is that Mr. T is buried at Monticello. However, this theory is invalid because it doesnt account for the Vietnam war of 1999. In this war, the commies took Jeffersons body and hid it in a Tauntaun. When the mythbusters were trying to confirm Lukes tundra survival method, the found the body of Mr. T. The mythbusters then returned the body to the memorial in exchange for 5% of Nick Cages treasure from National Treasure, the second best anime of all time (proceeding of course the almighty Cory in the House). This is the story behind the body of Mr. T. In conclusion, HOLY MOTHER OF JESUS ON A BICYCLE! Additionally, Mr. T is a lizard man, as evidenced by David Ickes 2010 nonfiction book Human Race Get Off Your Knees: The Lion Sleeps No More. This whole book can be bought at your local grocery store, or can be stolen from your nearest Church of the Illuminati. For these reasons, I think that we should have a fourth Reich. Err I mean i give 3/5 stars.

The Jefferson Memorial faces the tidal basin. To see it at night is breathtaking! To see it up close is humbling. To soak up the history of this monument is overwhelming! Thomas Jefferson was the second vice-president of the United States and the third President of The United States. He is credited with doing most of the writing for the Declaration of Independence and the Bill for Rights. Be sure to look up George Mason, as he was the key mentor to Jefferson and his writings. He too is remarkable and has a small memorial a few hundred yards from the Jefferson Memorial. Jefferson was also the Governor of Virginia! This is a wonderful memorial. Be sure to go to the downstairs area that has a display of quotations and more. There is also a gift shop filled with Jefferson memorabilia. The inscriptions are all worthy of thought and this is definitely a part of history for all of us! An Absolutely, Positively, Must see Memorial when in Washington DC

So much to Explore, Great Photo Op! The stunning Jefferson Memorial is at the Potomac River Tidal Basin on the National Mall. This beautiful monument honors Thomas Jefferson, the founding father who wrote much of the Declaration of Independence. Don’t miss the 19’ statue inside. This is one of the best spots to see the cherry blossoms in the spring with many of the cherry trees a gift from Japan. Originally the site was a popular beach! Inside, you will find many of Jefferson’s famous quotes and one spelling mistake form the Declaration of Independence is corrected. The word "unalienable", is corrected to "inalienable" on the inside south wall. Don’t miss this awe inspiring site. The Jefferson Memorial is stunning by day and beautiful at night and great for photos, especially from across the Tidal Basin. There is limited parking so consider the DC Circulator Bus or Uber. There are food trucks in the area and a gift shop with snacks.

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial a fitting tribute to one of our founding fathers, built on a scenic location away from the National Mall. If you’re visiting the National mall, I would highly suggest taking the walk or jog to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. While it may be a bit of a hike, you’re greeted with some of the best scenery that Washington DC has to offer. The memorial itself was much less crowded than everything at the National Mall. From the memorial you can gaze across the basin and look upon the Washington Monument and the National mall, which is simply stunning. While we didn’t get to see this view at sunset or sunrise, I can only imagine how amazing that might be. The statue is art at its finest and the building its housed in is another example of the historical architecture that dots the DC landscape. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is definitely worth a visit.

Dont Dance with anyone here as the so called "Police" will arrest you, imagine that the Police will actually harass you for dancing or kissing your spouse here, I wouldnt visit here just because it is in my opinion Anti-American to arrest someone for kissing their spouse here, whats worse is that the Police on site will arrest you. There is a nice video of the police here abusing their power and harassing innocent peaceful people. Things like this make people dislike the police. Its a shame that they would actually support this law. Only reason for the law would be to harass otherwise peaceful people, what other reason would public affection be not allowed here. If you support free speech and dont like the law abusing their powers then I would suggest visiting another memorial.

One of my favorite memorials simply because it isnt as popular as the Lincoln Memorial so the crowd is smaller here. Its on the tidal basin which makes for a great stroll. You can visit this one and walk alongside the water to the MLK Memorial and the FDR Memorial (my all time favorite in DC). There are bathrooms at this memorial and if you need an escape from the tourists, go to the back of this memorial and dangle your legs off the side and have some good introverted time. Note: The one downside is that this memorial is aging and the green stains on the walls and cobwebs on the ceiling are testimony to that. Despite this, it still is a great memorial.

This was a favorite stop on our visit last weekend. It was less crowded than the Lincoln Memorial - probably because of its location. The walk over gave us a gorgeous view of the Tidal Basin, complete with paddle boats available for rent there. We walked through the memorial, walked around the outside and hung out on the front steps for a while to watch the boats. Afterward, we rented bikes at the bike share stop right outside and road to Arlington. (The bikes are AWESOME by the way. If I had our weekend to do over, Id see all the same things, but rent the bikes all three days instead of just on Sunday.)

One of our five greatest Presidents and a champion of streamlined, small, federalist central government; political genius, lover of freedom and individual rights vs. community rights, lover of people, inventor; the memorial is an architectural marvel made of millions of pounds of marble, has four entries, beautiful light, constant breezes, great views of the Tidal Basin; easy walks to other monuments, The Mall, and Metro stations; good selection of books on Jefferson in the store - try "The Art of Power"; interesting museum in the lower level.

The Jefferson Memorial is a fitting tribute to one of the countrys greatest founding fathers. Its a beautiful building that houses an awesome statue of Thomas Jefferson surrounded by some of his best works of writing. Dont forget to go downstairs to see some of the exhibits (and the gift shop). If youre in to photography then this is one of the "must see" stops on a Washington, DC visit. Along with the Washington Monument this memorial is exactly what you think of when you think of Washington, DC.
