The staff was rude, unorganized and not helpful . What really killed it for this establishment is the laziness of the employees especially during the wax your own hand at the end of the wax museum and for only 10$ you can get it done and chose your colors red white or blue or all 3. Thats if you can figure out where the line begins . once you do after asking 2-3 diff employees who look at you with a blank stare and if your lucky you might get a response out of one of the several employees working in that area..Not to mention this establishment was not crowded whatsoever ..After a good 10 min figuring out where the 3 person line starts you get a little aggravated to then be asked if I had signed the waver slip?? ? Ok so can you please just tell me where this unorganized 3 person line begins? The employees were all to busy daydreaming with cold blank stares felt like I was watching the horror film Children of the corn. So my son was invited back into the 3 person line to have his hand done..process to wax ones hand took about 2-3 min time from start to finish that was after standing around 30 waiting for someone to help us out. never did find out where the line ended or started .Nobody seemed to remember me standing there for 25 min as I took my rings bracelets off ( standard procedure) trying to stay patient and calm because good things happen to those who wait Right?? WRONG!!!!( They forgot about me (mom) until it was time to pay one gentleman said 2 right? I said nope that would only be 1..He repeats himself again, this time I responded back with it was suppose to be 2 however somehow I was forgot about .i paid the 10 $and some change tax charge and got out of that lazy establishment..My sons hand however came out pretty good and it will make a great souvenor he can show off to his friends .The Carmel popcorn was amazing I purchased in the gift shop and was under 7$ for a big bag..

This is the only Madame Tussaud wax museum that Ive been so I wont be able to compare it to others. I really enjoyed the experience and the artistry that goes into making over 100 wax sculptures. At the time of my visit, the Michael Jackson wax figure was at the front-of-house when you first check in for your tickets so you quickly get an idea of whats in store for you below. The museum takes you through American history and pop culture in chronological order. It does a good job in my opinion of balancing educational and entertainment value. I enjoyed hearing my nephews say "Ooh, we learned about that in school!" Wax figures ranged from George Washington to Madonna to Tiger Woods to Beyoncè. Some statues where better than others and some were scarier looking than others. I particularly liked the sports exhibits & sports figure statues as well as the First Family, President and Mrs. Obama, complete with a replica of the Oval office desk where guests can pose and take pictures. Adults and children alike get a chance to pretend and play, taking pictures with their favorite figure and icon. You can spend 90 minutes to 2 hours in Madame Tussauds easily, reading, taking pictures, and role playing. Sometimes it can be congested with people which makes it trickier to get those candid shots. However, Id suggest visiting on a weekday just when they open for less foot traffic. The video at the end showing the process of making a wax figure was very informative as well.

The admission fee is way too high for what you actually receive. Beware the $7 optional fee for the takeaway souvenir book, its presented by the ticket sellers as part of the admission fee and YOU HAVE TO ASK to have it deleted. Old time hucksterism at its best. The admission prices are conspicuously absent from the ticket area, the sign advertising the admission prices rarely displays the actual cost of admission, its usually blank. It appears they seem to know the price of admission is high and go to lengths to conceal the price. You have to ask what it costs to enter. This must make for interesting transactions by the local employees when dealing with non English speakers who may not know the relative transaction costs. We saw a lot of cash transactions. The wax figures are well done, but many of the figures are missing (we counted over 10 missing figures during October 2010 visit). We were in and out in under 20 minutes and were bewildered by what we saw for what we paid. Spend your tourist dollars elsewhere.

My son has been asking to go here ever since we moved to DC. Im not sure what he was expecting to happen. Maybe he thought theyd be all animatronic. I finally brought him and a couple friends yesterday during a little staycation day here in town. It was a total bust. The only bright side was the Groupon deal I found that got us 2 for $25. But honestly, that was still way too much. I admit, the concept is cool. These wax figures are amazingly life like, but once you see a few, the novelty wears off quick and the tourist bus crowd will annoy the hell out of you. There are dozens of people jumping in front of you to take a picture with every single president. Im convinced the only reason this place is still in business is the tourist bus deals. There werent many individuals heading on in there. Want a sure bet on your trip to DC? Stick with the Smithsonians.

Being an American History nut, I was highly anticipating the Presidential Hall with all 44 of them. The attention to detail to all of the presidents, especially those from the beginning of our history are truly astounding. I truly appreciated some of the wax figures that portrayed important moments in our history (Robert Lees surrender to General Grant, Moon Landing). There is no other place where you can walk through 240 years of presidential history in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Being the American patriot that I am, I was a bit discouraged to see Cuban Communist Dictator Fidel Castro in an American Presidential Hall. I would seek a response from an employee next time I visit. My humble opinion would have him at least moved to another location not in our nations capital. Overall it was an excellent experience for history enthusiasts!

Vale a pena conferir.

Thats all? Just came back from Madame Tussauds DC with my mum and aunt and it was a So-so experience. We expected a lot more wax figures for the price. In a city where many attractions (Smithsonian) are free, this is a rip-off. We should have bought this tour as part of the City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off + Madame Tussauds package, which is going to be $35 in total for the admission & 24 Hour ride. Instead we picked the River Cruise (which is another blah) and paid full price for this. Unless you wanna meet all 44 US Presidents, a unique feature of this MT Washington DC, its not worth your time and $$. My dad skipped out on this and went for the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum which he felt was very educational & thoroughly enjoyed himself.
