I wanted to change dance schools for my daughter because the current one is a bit far. The Performing Art Center is in our neighborhood so I decided to take my daughter there to try it out. When I called to set up a trial for my daughter, I spoke to the VERY rude, unfriendly and unprofessional receptionist. I was told I can not bring her in until I speak to the teacher who I had left many messages for. When I did finally get to take her, my daughter introduced herself to the teacher who instead of recognizing she is a new student, ignored her and proceeded to teach the class as normal. While my daughter was in class, I overheard some of the parents complaining about the playboy bunny looking costume that the school wants the 2-5 year old kids to wear for the recital. When the class was over, I waited patiently to speak to the teacher to see how my daughter did because I was told she will only be accepted in the class if the teacher thinks she is ready (that i understand) BUT when I went up to talk to the teacher she ignored me and took in the next class. So overall I should have known this place wasnt for us because first impressions really do set the tone and form the very first call to The Performing Arts Center, I was sadly disappointing!

I used to love this place—my daughter took lessons here for over a year. It was very reasonable and the teachers were all EXCELLENT. I also liked that you could buy blocks of classes and come in at any point. Also the performances are really adorable and entertaining. However Im laughing at the previous review describing the awful receptionist. I would love to know why they keep her on because Im sure the place has lost thousands of potential customers because of her over the years. She has a major chip on her shoulder and she never really lost it no matter how familiar she was with us. A couple of times really screwed us too because if you call for information she will just give the bare minimum. So we ended up driving all the way over there only to find out classes werent being held. She does not ever apologize. Is she an owner? I dont know what her deal is.

Very rude receptionist. She has been there for years. Ive inquired 3 times. All she tells me. " talk to Tamara" i dont know who the hell Tamara is. And she doesnt tell me how to get to her. One time she took my number down and said Tamara will call you back. And she never did. Im starting to think they dont really need any more students. Management please train your receptionist how to talk to people. I think her name was virginia or victoria. She is an older lady with glasses. She had wasted my driving there 3 times. Im done. Im going to take my daughter somewhere else
