Homewood was the first winery that my husband and I ever visited, and we keep a bottle of their port (which comes in a a 750 mL bottle, rather than a 325) on our counter pretty much all the time. In the last few years the wine seems to have slipped some for the most part, though some of the white varietals that arent widespread in Sonoma are outstanding at Homewood. The service is usually pretty good, but the tasting room is very, very small. I strongly recommend coming in a larger group and making a reservation so that you can sit outside.

Very aptly named, everything about this winery is "homey" and down to Earth, from the friendly and laid back staff, to the cozy tasting room, and the unpretentious grounds. As for the wines, this is less of a place that aims to iterate and perfect a small number of varietals; rather, the winemaker picks what turns out well that year and makes a lot of different wines. I wouldnt recommend taking a "wine snob" here; its more suited for a group of people with diverse tastes that dont want to break the bank.

Very informative in terms of tasting but unlike other wineries that I saw on the tour, this one sources grapes from other wineries within 75 miles of its location. Unfortunately during the tasting I was put off by the smell of manure in the air - when we left I realised we were very close to a small dairy farm. Ughh. I do however remember the sweet Zinfandel is really tasty and if you are from overseas and order over ten bottles (of anythjng I believe), they ship it for free. Not bad for wine buffs!

Our favorite winery, no contest. The staff was knowledgeable and geared the conversation to our wine level. We knew nothing about wine tasting and she guided us through the 5 "S"s. Learning how to properly smell wine was only bested by trying their dessert wines. Everything was delicious and such a wonderful experience. Its a small winery and has all the benefits youd expect. Very enjoyable.

We had a fantastic experience tasting the wine. We actually stopped there while on a bike tour. Dave came out and greeted us and took a picture with us. It was one of the most informative places we went. Purchased wine and had it shipped home. Stopped by the next day to let them know what a great experience we had.

This is one of my favorite Sonoma wineries. Its totally laid back, tastings are free, and the wines are great for the price points. Staff can be a little rough around the edges sometimes, but they knew their stuff and probably just want to get back to doing what they like doing most: making wines.

Enjoyed visiting Homewood Winery in April for some wine tasting. Loved the personnel we spoke with! All of them! Really enjoyed their wines...took three home with me! If you havent tried their Red Table Wine Flying Wizzbangers....you are missing out! My favorite Red ever!!!

This is my wife and Is favorite little wineries. Dave Homewood is an expert wine maker. There winery is not a big corporate show. Instead it is a small family business where you can appreciate the hard work they put into crafting exceptional wine. Tell Dave I said hello.

Small but cozy. Had great wine. I like it very sweet and Rick honed in on my taste buds perfectly. Very cool little place. Had a great experience. The wine tasting was $10 but they wave the fee if you buy at least two bottles which we did because it tasted so good

One of our stops on the wine tour. John is very knowledgeable and there was a cosy tasting room called Redder is Better (how cute is that!). This place blends good grapes harvested from other wineries together, selecting the very best!

Steve was a great host, and we enjoyed his knowledge and tales. The wines were really interesting, bought a bottle of the late harvest semillon

Absolutely adorable little place, whose wines are not really available anywhere else. Try the Merlot Port, it brings tears to your eyes.
