I LOVE Seaport Village, have been going there for years first as an out of town visitor, then as a local visitor and then I wound up working there for a while and seeing first hand how the place works. There is so much to do not just there but in the surrounding areas that you would be wise to take the trolley perhaps or any public transportation that drops you off there so you dont have to deal with parking costs that can be as expensive as a meal in a good restaurant or you can plan to go later in the day, it used to be that after 6:00 pm on a weekday you could park at any open meter for free, not sure if its still like that. Everything inside is done well and with good taste, most of the stores are not your typical chain store, there are only a couple of those, they are darling small boutiques with unique things that you cant find everywhere. Like a store just for kites, others with hammocks, candles, arts and crafts, toys that are still made out of wood and you can get them personalized for your child or for a gift to take back home. A cozy bookstore with a delicious coffee shop and pastries inside, with small table inside and out where you can read some of those books before you decide which one you want to buy. They also sell all kinds of knick knacks, I remember buying lookalike bracelets for myself and my daughter and ladybug earrings. Theres a hot sauce store, a hat store, t-shirts and sweatshirts, souvenirs, sun glasses, Christmas decorations, a place where they make fudge, a good variety of small fast food places that have healthy food like fish and salads to name a few, delicious sweets like a new cupcake shop, Ice cream, old fashioned caramel apples and many great restaurants including The Cheesecake Factory on the newer side. It also has entertainment for the kids like a video arcade, a very antique and wonderfully kept Carousel with many types of animals not just horses like most of them have. There are mimes clowns, jugglers, face painters, contortionists, story tellers fire & sword eating people performing all over the place, the guy that builds his rock formations, live statues, fortune tellers, you name it. And to make it that much more attractive its right on the water with amazing views and photo opportunities, theres always music playing in the background and the grounds are lovely and well kept. You could literally spend all day there just waking around and enjoying a cup of coffee and people watch. I could go on and on about all the things this place has but Ill just end by saying that if you have the time or if you are visiting San Diego you must make an effort to visit Seaport Village. Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Seaport Village is one of San Diegos best destinations. A walk through it and along the marina is great fun. The gorgeous marina, the park-like grounds, the views and of course Californias consistent great weather make this village a memorable experience; hours and hours of fun and shopping. The shops and restaurants (on, near and even over the water) are exceptionally nice; many are unique. People are friendly and there is entertainment throughout. A photographers favorite area so bring your best camera, maybe bring a model and prepare to get some great shots. Great spot for memorable family photos or great selfies. Beautiful Hi Rise Hotels grace the marina; you can enjoy the restaurants that overlook the marina and the Village, some with great views of San Diego as well. Ride in a romantic carriage, watch a great juggler, listen to talented street performers, watch some spectacular kites (often being flown here), enjoy a SoCal sunset, coffee, candy, ice cream, snack or fine dine; they have it all. Art Galleries, Gift Shops, Jewelry and much much more. Every inch of this great park is meticulously maintained, this is how parks and marinas should be; really a huge cut above reminding me of the quality and craftsmanship of Hyannis Port, Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket; you get the idea! San Diego has a lot of great style but Seaport Village is certainly one of its best cut diamonds reminiscent of the great style of an earlier San Diego. You WILL love Seaport Village.

Cute tourist attraction that is close to other great San Diego sights. Hobby shops of every kind imaginable everywhere you look. Sock shop. Magnet shop. Patriotism shop. Mug shop. Soap soap. Swing shop. Kite shop. Pirate shop. Magic shop. Theres always something interesting to look at. Dont feel pressured into buying something. Most of these stores are owned by a larger company but they all have different names to give the illusion of small "mom and pa shops." Youll find all kinds of tasty foods (Mexican, American, Italian, Greek, and Seafood). Buy the churros from Margaritas Kitchen and Cantina. They are made fresh to order. Crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. While there are some street performers, there arent many. Parking at Seaport Village is difficult to find and expensive. During non-event days, park at the San Diego convention center. Theres plenty of covered parking and its $15 all day. The San Diego convention center is only a couple of minutes walk to the Seaport Village.

Disappointingly touristy and cliche. Weve been here twice in the last 5 years and wouldnt go back or recommend to a friend. Though its well maintained and comfortable, the actual shops didnt seem to reflect anything resembling an authentic San Diego that we saw during the rest of either of our trips. The prices were very high, and the store staff was friendly but also overly aggressive with the selling at most of the stores we visited. On the second visit we were also there with our young children and seeing it from their perspective we didnt think it would warrant the time spent there. Instead consider visiting somewhere like La Jolla, Little Italy, or Balboa Park for a more uniquely "San Diego" experience. The Midway is also a ten minute walk from Seaport Village if youre looking for somewhere you can get to on foot. I feel bad giving a review this negative as they do seem to make an effort, and the work theyve done shows, I just didnt feel like it was a satisfying visit anytime weve gone.

This is an amazing place to visit. Basically a popular go to spot for tourists and visiters. You get an amazing view of the Bay, Coronado on the other side, and the city. There is a pleasant walkway from the heart of Seaport Village that boarders the water. This walkway will take you north past a few nice parks to the USS Midway Museum and the "Kissing Statue" as well as the Bob Hope memorial. You can go south on a pleasant walk around the marina. You can also head South/East and catch the backside of the Convention center and end up at the Hilton just south of Petco park. Any which way you go there are decent public restrooms. The parking at Seaport Village is expectedly expensive, its the nature of the area. There are a bunch of nice restaurants catering to almost any craving. Also a couple of cozy coffee shops. There are some nice souvenir shops too, which is perfect to mark your visit. Keep your eye out for the famous "Rock Man"! Great place to visit!

I always love coming here, and bringing family, whenever visiting S.D. Been coming here since 1997, and sadly I heard from a shop owner that there are plans to close up Seaport Village since their contract is almost up in a year or so. Theres lots to see, and do here. Great picture taking as well. It can get chilly so take a light sweater or jacket. Parking is scarce, and it can get expensive by the hour. Ended up paying $14!! Even with getting it stamped from the shops. Plan to spend the day here since theres lots of walking, interesting shops, vendors, restaurants and sightseeing. If you have kiddos or are young at heart, theres a nice carousel to ride. Lots of great places for souvenirs. Take change in case you want to look through the looking glass scopes to see ships and other landmarks afar. A blanket is nice too, if you have time to sit and people watch, or watch the boats cruise by.
