There is a good reason this is no where close to number one on the list of tours. Our first driver (I think his name is Kyle) when I got on the bus I told him my girlfriend was in the bathroom that she would be there in just a sec. The guy waits maybe 10 seconds and says do you see her in sight and I said no but she will be here literally in just a second. He ask me to get off the bus. So I get off the bus and go to find her and she is no where to be found. She was on the bus she had gotten there as soon as I got off. The point is I asked the guy to wait literally for no more than one minute and that was too much to ask. Later in the day I asked Patricia if she could recommend a place to get off and walk around between where we were and where we were parked and it turned into the most odd and awkward situation. Obviously this was too much to ask. She blew me off by saying she couldnt answer this because she needed to pay attention to make sure everyone was getting off the bus safely. Ok no problem. Even though Im not quite sure why you cant talk and watch people get off the bus at the same time. So the people get off safely. Im still waiting patiently for an answer and as 1 person is getting on the bus I repeat the question and she says the same thing. This literally goes on two more times. Finally I realized that she was just was being rude and blowing me off and for what ever reason didnt want to answer a simple tour guide question. So I got up and went back to my seat. As I sit down she finally recommends a place that wasnt even between where we were and where we were going like I had asked. If you read this far my point is the drivers are horrible. You cant hear what they say when then the bus gets moving cause its the wind is too loud. I love taking tours of every city we go to but this was by far the worst. I will say its nice to be able to ride around and see the city with out the hassle of fighting traffic but the customer service is horrible. If there is another operation that offers this same kind of service I would try something else. If not just dont expect much out of the drivers except bad jokes.

We had an excellent time on this tour. Our tour guide, Hatch, was a significant reason the tour was so good. He was very funny, entertaining, gave us a great deal of information and history of San Diego in a way that made you want to listen. We were able to see so many parts of San Diego that we thought about visiting...giving us a great over view of them all so we could make the right choices about where we wanted to spend more time. Both my husband and I enjoyed the trip...and we were so glad that we took it...as we both agreed, had we just driven to the places ourselves we would have never known all the history that Hatch shared and the places would havent have had as much impact or interest for us. EVERYONE visiting San Diego should make this their FIRST thing on their "To Do" list...then they will know what else on their list is really "for them" interest wise. (Plus the drivers do the driving, no parking at each stop etc.). We will take the tour again if we ever get back to San Diego. Thanks Hatch for making our holiday that much better (and the token for the trivia question...its going in my scrapbook!!)

Took the tour in San Diego-first driver-Philip was wonderful-very knowledgeable and funny and entertaining. The second driver-Griz-not so much. He was an ex police officer and still acted way too much like one-very dry and more concerned that people on the bus were talking than he was about getting along or being polite. The tour itself was really fun-we were able to see a lot of the city that we normally wouldnt have seen. We had a 2 day hopper pass so planned to just take the tour one day and spend the second taking it and getting on and off to see things we wanted to see. I would recommend this as a way to get around and see the sights without having to drive but hope you dont get Gris!

I would give it even less stars if possible. I took the beaches tour to La Jolla. The tour leader (who was 15min late arriving at my hotel) was a very uncharismatic, unpleasant woman who had nothing to say about the history or the beaches, but talked about food the whole time. Worst of all, the bus was to leave La Jolla at 3pm, and I watched from halfway across the street as it left me stranded at 3:01. There were 8 people on the tour, its not like it was packed and it was easy to miss a passenger. I had to pay $50+ to get back with an uber. I called the number on the website repeatedly for 25min staring at 3:05, and nobody picked up. Just awful. Ruined my vacation.

What a great way to see San Diego! It was nice to get a glimpse at the different sites and hear great information from our driver/tour guide. And a great bonus that you can hop off and tour if you want and then catch another trolley later to continue the tour. The only difficulty I saw was that they didnt put enough trolleys in service soon enough to accommodate the two cruise ships docked in the harbor that day, so people were having to wait to get onto a trolley after getting off. Recommendation, if you can pick what day to do the tour, do it on a day that the cruise ships arent docked in San Diego.

We did the trolley tour with all 3 of our kids. (8, 7, 6 months) Our first tour guide was amazing (Alex.) Absolutly hilarious, didnt feel rehearsed at all, was super personable and super entertaining. The tour itself was great and informative. We got off at one of the stops and got back on later with Jim, our other tour guide. He wasnt near as good as Alex. Felt super rehearsed and boring. We couldnt keep our eyes open. Overall the tour was great. The only thing was the last pickups arent as late as we wouldve liked. We wouldve loved being able to do a little more.

Was really cool to finally ride in one of these trolleys. Been a local all my life, and never thought of doing a tour of my own city! I loved the hop on hop off feature. We started off with Tim who was wonderful! Very well spoken and then ended the tour with zoo man (I think that was his name), who was also very well spoken, and loved how he brought the narration to life. Tim and zoo man really seemed to love their jobs, and I cant blame them! Lol!

This is truly THE way to get a taste of San Diego. Friends had made numerous suggestions of areas and sites to visit and thanks to OTTT, we covered them all! The guides are a vital part of the service--they give you all the "fun facts" and "insider information," plus they have great personalities! I would recommend this tour highly--excellent value for the price. Well definitely look for Old Town Trolley Tours in the other cities they serve.
