This is a traditional Park-Style golf course. It has a fair amount of trees and the greens are pretty flat and wide. It is better than the average LA-Muni course; it is long and fairly wide open. Bunkers located around the greens, dog legs and elevation changes cause some good risk-reward situations. The rough was not very long so errant shots where not very hard to overcome. The greens were lumpy and slow, but pretty average for a muni. Tee box set-up allowed for our group with a mix of abilities to play competitively, but long hitters had a distinct advantage, especially on the back 9. It was very busy, but for the $30 twilight price I thought it was a good value. Im not going to go out of the way to play it again, but for locals, people out to have fun or learn, and those that are looking for value, Hansen Dam would fit the bill.

I had a 6:15 tee time. People were rude, rushed me out just after 6 barking orders at me like I am a dog. By 9:00 am , well in to the 80s and no cold water anywhere. Looks like a nice bar and little restaurant, but locked up. I guess no one to work it or something. Finally finished at 10:15 and still no water or anywhere to buy anything. Golf shop and restaurant bar still locked up. Tip, spend 5$ more and go to a real golf course that could give you a cold drink of water or sell you a cold soda. Ranchers treat their cows better than this golf course treats its golfers.

Great wide open course for beginners and intermediate players. During the summer it gets very hot (obviously because of the location) and I have noticed that slows down many players. Be prepared for 5-6+ hours for all 18 holes. I personally liked going after 5pm and during the peak of summer you can get in 10 holes for about $12. There is no snack/ beer cart and no marshal to regulate play.

For a City operated course, this is above average. The fairways are pretty wide. You can afford to put a bit more muscle into your drives. Unless you totally slice or hook it, it will be playable. Some of the par 4s and par 5s are pretty long. In my opinion, there were some par 4s that should have been par 5s. Its a good clean and affordable place to hone your skills.

Love the course it was a blast to play, open fairways and not to many bunkers. The only problem was the greens, TERRIBLE condition they were all sand and you had no idea where your ball was going to kick. If they were in a little better condition I would have had a great round.

Classic city of Los Angeles course, wide open and mostly flat. Plenty of length and challenge. Be prepared to spend a while checking in with the starter. Also theres usually a long wait on the 2nd tee. The bar and restaurant are subpar. Its like stepping into the 1980s.

Get your scores from the 90s to the 80s on this course. Wide open fairways, low rough, minimal bunkerage and easy access greens make this a great time to break 90. Play early or prep for a 5 hour+ round. Have fun and "smoke one" down the fairway!!
