Ive been going to KoC since early 2003. Through upswings and down in the number of people that go on a regular basis, changes in nightly themes, staffing changes and various stages of decoration, one thing has remained constant: the welcoming nature of the "regulars". While everyone has their own unique personality, theres a general air of acceptance, which is why people come from all over the Bay Area to a relative dive bar in the middle of nowhere. The drink prices are certainly not low, but theyre reasonable and the bartenders are generally not stingy. While the mens bathroom left a lot to be desired before (as I see has been noted elsewhere), theyve recently upgraded to an actual urinal. Its my favorite place to go and I hope the overall attitude doesnt ever change. Of important note, while I called it a gay bar, the general tone of acceptance applies here too. On any given night theres usually a good mix of gay men and women, bisexuals, transgendered, cross-dressers, straight and questioning people. Weve got 21 year olds and 61 year olds that come on a regular basis. I love that its not pigeon-holed into one type of clientele.

This place is the opposite of the yuppy bars you sometimes find in downtown San Jose. Ive been going off-and-on for over 12 years, and never once in that time has the atmosphere been stuffy or judgmental. Its a place where accepting people go to have fun with other accepting people. No matter what your gender or sexual preference, the folks at KoC are accepting. The decor is simple but comfortable, and the signs behind the bar are funny without trying too hard. I particularly like karaoke nights, because everyone gets claps (no matter how badly they sing). I have never once heard a single boo. I hope it stays that way forever.

Went there last night with some friends. Not sure if its always Latin, but last night was and it was the greatest experience Ive had in a very long time while visiting a nightclub. The staff and customers were exceptionally friendly. Being a minority in the bar, white, I felt completely at home and welcomed as one of all of the others. Everyone danced, had a cocktail, and plain and simply had a lot of fun. I love Latinos and Im so glad I found such a warm and friendly place. Why the secret?? This place blows any "friendly" bar, from SF to SJ, OUT OF THE WATER! Im recommending this place to EVERYONE!

This is a great place to go where there are no clicks or snooty fools. Everyone is friendly and always having a good time. The KJ for karaoke is amazing with great sound and selections. The drag shows are amazing and so fun! This is a great gay bar in the Bay Area. I have been going there for 10 years. Its home for me :-)

Its a dive bar with an interesting crowd of regulars and karaoke with Bruce (aka Kor karaoke) on Monday, Thursday, Sunday. Hes the best kj in the bay area and if you like karaoke at all you should check out king of clubs.

Ive only been to the Monday night karaoke, but its wicked fun. JJ, who tends the bar on Mondays, is a fantastic guy. He puts a lot of care into the drinks he makes, and it shows; they are some of the best Ive ever tasted.

This isnt your average club. It looks like a hole in the wall, and attracts a very diverse clientele, even within the gay population. But its a very friendly, welcoming place.
