Started going to Garre Cafe many years ago when Annie Andre was GM and we became regular visitors. The menu really never changed and we decided to go elsewhere. Returned several times to find that nothing had changed even though we had recommended several changes to the chef. We returned this Sunday, August 24, 1014 to find that the cafe had moved to its new site a few yards away. The setting is beautiful except for the patio where the same old dilapidated umbrellas are covering the patio tables. Fortunately, one of the long time staff waited on our table. The menu was reduced but basically the same as before. I had the crab cakes as an appetizer. The portion was Increased from 2 to 3 on the plate. However, the crab cakes were the size of thimbles. Very little crab, mostly filler Put them all together and you had a medium sized crab cake for $17.00!!! My husband ordered the antipasta plate. Enough there for 3 people and at $15 not bad. For the main course I ordered the tri-tip sandwich without the onions and aioli...it came with both. The accompanying home made chips were soggy. My partner ordered the flat bread pepperoni pizza which was adequate. For dessert, we had the gelato. Two small scoops for $9. Id swear it was ice cream and not gelato. All in all a very forgetable experience. Cant wait to try dinner!

Amazing location.. so beautiful, had a champagne brunch with 15 people, the food was amazing, the service was great.. went for wine tasting and played some bocce ball... love the bubbles.. then decided we wanted a pizza.. had a great Molinari pepperoni out of their wood burning oven... it was a beautiful day in the sun with friends and apparently somebody was there having a huge wedding...

I am a frequent diner at Garres and Im always appreciative of the consistently high quality of ingredients, presentation of the dishes and the welcoming ambiance. This is not one of your "run of the mill" places to eat. It is a lovely experience that brings you back time after time.

We didnt eat here, only did wine tasting. It was decent... all reds so if you are looking for white it isnt a good spot. $10 tasting waived with 2 bottle purchase. The outdoor patio are is decent. We didnt go to the part with bocce ball courts since there was a private event.

Nice place to have lunch and a glass of wine. We always enjoy having lunch on their outdoor patio. The food, service and wine are all very good. I do not hand out 5 star ratings very often and Garre is not too far from that, I would say 4 1/2 stars.

The food was surprisingly excellent, service 5 star. The server gave us a free taste of their Cabernet Sauvignon which was smooth, rich & balanced ... And were quite picky about wine! It deserves to be fuller! Our new favorite place in Livermore.
