This is a typical or maybe even above average city course, with a 50$ a round price tag. The greens are chewed up, the grounds are not maintained, and there is even a golf cart on the 9th hole that is missing a front left wheel, and still sitting there. Not only did it take 3 hours to play the front 9, they thought it was a great idea to play 3 groups of 5 players in one lump, so 15 friends broken up into 3 groups? How is that a good idea. It was so painfully slow, that we played the front again after the 9 and finished the 2nd front 9 holes in 1 hr 15 mins. (We were just 2 people). Nothing like driving a golf cart where the suspension is about to blow out, and putting on a surface where every green has a different speed. This place needs some help, but since the city is in a huge deficit, why fix the golf course when it makes money, and is a cash cow.

Review based on round played on Saturday, May 11: - 7:24 a.m. tee time, took our foursome almost 5 hours to complete the round. Followed a threesome that struggled to get it off the tee, and were playing from the blues (no marshal present to encourage pace of play and/or changing to a more appropriate tee box). - Greens were in great condition. One side had been punched two weeks prior, and while that was noticeable on certain greens, it was not bad. Pin positions were never on the punched side. - No cart on the course to buy food/drink/beer (did eventually see that they had a cart out later in the day) - Overall was very impressed with the course condition and a very good time.

The "word" is that Knollwood is known for slow play. After a 5+hour round it certainly lived up to its reputation. Of course, the snail-like pace of play was exacerbated by having to follow a fivesome --which according to the marshall, is something that American Golf (who runs the L.A. County facility) encourages. Given all the emphasis on pace of play by USGA, SCGA and the media as of late, youd think that the golf courses themselves would take appropriate steps. "Little things" that would help include no fivesomes (duh), better between-hole direction signage (especially at the turn), and easily visible yardage markers.

The condition of the golf course was subpar and the service was quite appalling. The starter I was talking to was rude and inconsiderate. And the worst part of it is, the starter at the time is the current GM for the golf course. I believe his name is Tate. If the GM is rude and inconsiderate like that, I think the course itself is pretty dysfunctional already.... I repeat...the GM might look nice but he is absolutely deluded and arrogant! Whatever you do, dont talk with the GM. Avoid him at all costs!

The first hole is deceptively challenging. It isnt the worlds best course but you do get to see some nice clean houses nearby. Mentally, Id prefer a nice pristine nature as a background during my game but this is a welcoming change as well. The fees are decent. The greens are pretty well kept. No complaints here. Recommended

Great ⛳️course lay out. Challenging and fair. Love the changes theyve made to the bunkers and greens, but the best change is the pace of play. The marshals are attentive and present to keeps rounds to a 4 hour max. I wish all Golf courses would do this. Will definitely play again!

Enjoyed my day yesterday phase of play excellent 4 hours 7 am t-time. Spacing between holes was perfect did not have to wait from tee to green. Greens were excellent except for a couple, rough and fringe around the greens need improvement.

Not very happy. This place could be an awesome course, but the Marshalls/Starters do not regulate the play. NO golf course should take almost 6hrs to complete a round. Im all for enjoying your round, but there is no need for such slow play.

Slow play. You can play golf here for 5.30 hours. Customer service still not improving. I dont understand why. Close by where I live. But never been my first choice.
