"Go to your Happy Place!" "Its all in the hips its all in the hips" "Somebodys closer!" "Harness good energy block out the bad" "Hes riding the bull feeling the flow". I admit that the true reason that I ever picked up a golf club was because of the movie Happy Gilmore. Who doesnt love that movie? I learned everything I need to know about golf I learned from Happy, Chubs and Shooter McAdams. As you can tell I have never received a formal golf lesson so I was stocked to see the "Youre in" email for the special Aviara Golf VIP Experience! Thank you Aviara Golf course for making my golf dream happen. I havent picked up a club in 5 plus years and my clubs are doing their job of collecting dust in my garage. I am inspired to break them out again after learning a few tips from the pros. At this event, we watched a few golf swing videos with tips and got a chance to practice putting, driving, and chipping. Well not all of us, but most of us got a chance to win a free book from a local pro if you sink the put or chip in the circle area of the green. If you dont understand what Im talking about, watch Happy Gilmore :). Lastly the food and drinks! And trust me it was real! No one told us to meet on hole 17 at 7:30 PM and to wear something nice. No spoilers here to find out the club secret watch Happy Gilmore. Im gonna be completely honest.. The best part of the golf experience was the fun golf card ride back from the driving range. Go down the fairway at top speed was a thrill. I have a feeling the majority of peeps came for the free food and not the golf experience. I wasnt that impressed with the custom golf clubs area.. I am horrible at golf and throwing money at my problem wont help. I just need to practice and have more codependency. I like the "free tips" but I know this is all about business and sales nothing is really free. The Clubhouse is awesome! I rather just have drinks and laugh about how Trish spends more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff. :) Just kidding! I love how classy and upscale the Clubhouse and bar lounge are. The food was okay but I enjoyed the nice premium import beers at the bar. Like vultures everyone tried to get something to eat as the food came around gradually. I thought the sliders were okay, but the Lobster balls had way too much breading.

Wow. Simply wow! The level of service this hotel offers is leaves no room for doubt that this is a luxury resort. Ive had the pleasure of dealing with people at all levels and nearly all departments of this hotel as both a corporate partner with individual travelers and large groups and as a guest of the hotel for a local stay-cation. The entire team works so seamlessly together and makes you feel like you are the most important person theyve met. As a guest: From the moment you valet your car and hand your bags over to the incredibly sweet bell hop you instantly feel VIP. The lush surroundings and incredible views allow you to escape any worry you may have arrived with. In any of the restaurants you will enjoy fantastic service and delicious food. My favorite is the fresh juice at the California Bistro that is always different and amazing. If you are looking for a cocktail, their lobby bar has old fashioned charm that welcomes you to linger. Then, when you finally wander into your beautiful room, you cant help but appreciate all the little details and impeccable upkeep the resort puts into each room. Fresh and welcoming, its the perfect home away from home. On the corporate side of things: I cannot say enough nice things about how easy it is to work with this team. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help with meetings, dinners, and all sorts of events. Every group I have ever brought in has not stopped raving about the resort. The meetings are executed flawlessly and Gene Smallwood, Associate Director of Sales, always ensures my guests are well taken care of. They are hands down the best resort I have had the pleasure of working with on all levels.

On a "guys only" trip to San Diego with no plans to play anywhere, we were lucky enough to stumble on to the Aviara golf course. Loved it so much we played again the next day. Course was fun, and challenging but fair. Service was top-notch from the bag drop to the on course service and restaurant. Aviara will be included on every San Diego area golf vacation from this point forward!

Such a beautiful course and experience only to be spoiled by a greenskeeper who followed us every single hole on the back nine cutting the fringe with a LOUD mower!! For the price you pay to play at this course, this should of been taken care of before play. Heres a tip, start mowing on 18 and go backwards so if we do see you, it would only be once and not every single hole. SMH.

A great golf course that has been returning to the best times with better maintenance and facilities due to the fame it is gaining as the home of an LPGA event every spring. The layout is challenging and at the same time very playable for differing levels of ability. Play can be a bit slow due to the recovering popularity of the course.

Beautiful course. Impeccably maintained. Pretty challenging, even from the white tees. Free range balls before you play, and everyone is extremely friendly. The only reason I knocked off a star is the price. Is it really $150 better then the Crossings, or $180 better than Arrowood? Still, its a fantastic course and facility.

Played here last week (10/13/16) and the course has been hit pretty hard with the drought. It is a great layout and a nice facility, however the rough and fairways look somewhat barren. This is a great course for $150, anything more might feel like you got ripped off ...until they get more water and the overseeding done.

The fun staff and beautiful weather made this a memorable course. Cart paths lined with fragrant flowers, well maintained fairways & greens, accurate GPS systems, attentive cart girls and made to order sandwiches this place had it all. I will be back! Keep it on the fairway is my only advice.

This is a beautiful 18 hole course. You can see the Batiquitos lagoon through the eucalyptus trees for much of your time playing. Overall a gem of a golf course in South Carlsbad. Go to the Argyle Steakhouse afterwards and get a terrace table for a spot overlooking more of the lagoon.

Great golf outing. We played 36 holes back to back and it was fantastic. Course is in excellent condition and is challenging but very fair. Some tricky spots that played better the second time through.

Very enjoyable golf course. Not always in perfect condition, but certainly one of the best public options in San Diego. For a real challenge play in the afternoon when the ocean breeze kicks up.
