Man working the pro shop today, Todd I think, was a royal a**hole. Our friend was running late so I said that he could just catch up to us when he got here. Todd said no, he would just push back our tee time. I told him no, we were ready and our friend could get a cart and catch up. Todd said they were very busy today and needed the carts and he would have one of "his" guys run him out to us if he showed up. I told him he will show up and he would still need a cart since there were three of us!? Not only was this guy a jerk, but didnt know what he was talking about. I told him never mind that we would take care of it. When we finished the round we pulled up and there was no one to clean our clubs or assist with anything. I saw the same guy from earlier walking by and I told him they should check the cart we had because it was unusually slow and did not have GPS. He said, "Well thats the one you started with isnt it?" I am not sure why that made any sense to him? I said it was, but I did not know why we were given that one when there was a lineup of carts with GPS. He told me that a lot of their carts were like that. I suggested they use those last for a better guest experience and/or upgrade. He told me, "Pal, thats labor intensive." I do not even know if he used that term correctly and I was kind of shocked at the interactions I had with this guy. Throughout the day Todd was not only incredibly rude, but he did not even seem to make sense with his responses. The Ironic thing is, I am moving to Heritage Harbor next month and was seriously considering a membership at Stoneybrook, until my experience today, and I will not be back. I guess I will spend my money elsewhere, you should too. There are many golf courses in the area and I am sure none will treat their guests this way.

The course was OK, fairly typical layout. Layout was through the houses, the man in the Pro Shop said it was nine miles along the cart path. Fairly wide open. We played with two winter visitors, strangers to us, elderly, and one was badly arthritic. He walked very slowly; but he was as nice as could be, and kept up OK. The GPS in the cart broke after seven holes, so I had no idea how far the shots were, as the course was poorly marked, distance wise. When we finished, I mentioned the broken GPS to a staff member - no response. But he did manage to tell me "you were 20 minutes behind". We held no one up, and considering the people we played with, I thought we did well (it was 4:35 from start to finish). After thinking about this, that may have been the rudest thing I ever heard at a golf course. We were going to have lunch there, but now I was sort of POed, so we left. And, never to return.

This was a beautiful course with a busy active clubhouse many years ago sadly no longer. Staff is friendly but course is overpriced for current conditions. The bunkers are unmaintained and more mud than sand, the greens are slow and inconsistent. Course is very hard and dry. Slow pace of play and no rangers spotted. We also never saw a beverage cart and the halfway concession bar is no longer open. We were not permitted to take cart to parking lot to unload clubs. It appeared this was to make you feel obligated to tip staff to clean clubs. We therefore drove up picked up our clubs and met at Applebees for a beer. Not on the must return list unless major changes occur

Layout of the course is exceptional but the conditions are deplorable. As a long time member, Ive seen the conditions of the course deteriorate, year after year. Today was the worst I have seen it. Many different types of grass and weeds growing at different heights and speeds. The greens look nice but the speed is so SLOW, I felt I need to use a rescue club to putt with. I hope the conditions improve real soon or I will look for another club to play at next year. Please improve the course.

Ive been playing this course since 2004. Todays condition is the worst Ive ever seen. Sand traps are unplayable. Weeds and various types of grasses growing in the fairways. The overall course condition is deplorable. As a multi year member I feel Ive been deceived and lied to by the owner who promised improvements two years ago but produced nothing. Its a real shame, its a great layout gone bad. The only good thing to say about the course is that most of the staff is friendly and helpful.

I am a disabled Vietnam Vet. This is a very unfriendly place for disabled people. Even with what they refer to as a handycap privledge , you are forced to walk at least twenty yards from where your golf cart will automatically shut off. I had to have the other people in my group pick up my ball on many holes because the walk was at least fifty yards to the green and back to the cart path. Superr. was very unsimpathtatic.

Not a bad course to play. Tough greens at times and more than some holes are tough. They do over book so beware of that and they dont really have a ranger to watch for slow play. Which there is a lot of. The guy in the pro shop is sometimes rude for apparent reason so dont be surprised. The last time I saw a ranger he was hawking for balls in the water. so what does that tell you.

Golfed here many times.. The staff is always first class and friendly and the course is always well maintained and beautiful to play. One of my favorite places in Sarasota or Manatee county to spend a day off enjoying the Florida sunshine. Great place to play 18 and definitely a great value for the price of a round.. Two thumbs up and I highly recommend this course!

Played at the Stoneybrook Golf Club with a group of buddies from Michigan. Long with water coming into play quite often made this a very challenging course for us. Great value for a quality course. We hung out afterwards in the restaurant and caught some of the college football action. Good lunch special, even better considering it was on a weekend!!

We recently played Stoneybrook and were very disappointed with the course conditions. Many greens were worn and poorly maintained and fairways were dry and yellowed. And theyre now charging as much as $70 for greens fees which isnt worth it based on these poor conditions. They lost our business until they make improvements.

Overbooked and poor quality course. You are on an assembly line of players the entire time, while waiting to tee there was a group on the fairway and a separate group on the green. It felt like we were pawns for them to make money as opposed to guests who were there for a round of golf

A very nice layout gone bad . The course is in immediate need of maintenance on the entire course. Greens reasonable but need cutting. Sandtraps should be classified as ground under repair. Much crabgrass. Price of $20.00 is very good considering what the conditions are
