We visited on a Monday morning-mom, dad and 9 year old son. We bought our tickets online so we had a guaranteed time. We also paid the $5 for the extra pass for our son. That $5 was well worth it. With it he got a lanyard that had a cool little activity thing that you could stamp at different stations and he got 3 Lego minifigures with it. Amazing! Now for the start of our adventure. The wait was not bad at all. We skipped the photo that they take when you first get there and went straight to the little ride. That was pretty cool. It was very short, but fun. The guy who helped us get in and locked in to the ride was very nice. After the ride we got started into the chaos that is the discovery center. Kids. Running. Everywhere. Loudly. I expected that though. They were having a blast. Parents seemed stressed. Kids seemed happy. We started with the car building race. Pieces were scattered everywhere and wheels were hard to find. The slide to race your cars on was a mess. Kids were climbing on it and taking other peoples cars as soon as they reached the bottom. This may be an area that they need an associate attending. We left that area pretty quickly after that. The pirate ship playground was super cool. Kids only which is great. It is huge and my son loved it. After that we headed to the Ninjago area. The reflex game was cool-son loved it. The laser training camp thing was not worth the wait. It is 30 seconds long and even on the hardest setting is super simple. My son did it twice and that was it. He and other boys around us were saying that it was too short and way too easy. The room with the city set up was amazing. Nothing to do there but look but it was so pretty. I liked it better during the "daytime", but hubby and son liked it at "nighttime". Be sure to look up at the animated windows when youre in there. The 4D cinema was cool. I wanted to see all of the movies, but my son was done after the first one because 3D messes with his senses a bit. We didnt do the class because we didnt want to wait and we didnt eat there. After 2 hours, my son was more than ready to leave. On our way out we asked about the photo taken on the ride. It was $21! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? $21 for a photo. No thanks. We made our way out which puts you in the store. My son loved the Lego pieces wall, but its pretty stupid how tall the wall is with no way to get the higher up Legos and no help there. This must be the way they do things because the Lego store in NYC was the same way. My son did have a question while making the custom mini figures, but the guy working that area just pointed. No speaking at all and even when I asked him he just pointed. Dude-find a new job, please. Prices were pretty decent in here I must say. We were pleasantly surprised.The staff in the store were far from friendly and the line was very long. They had 2 people working the line of people coming into the center even tho they were not busy, but the customers spending a hundred or so in the store had to wait. Ooookkkkaaayyy. This was our end of summer treat for our son. I asked him if he thought the 5 hour drive was worth it and he said maybe. He liked the store, but said the website sold it much more than it was. I agree with him.

We had a fantastic time at Legoland this morning! Right now the weekends are SUPER crowded and there are loooong wait times, so factor that into your decision about when you go. (Plus the one-day passes are pretty expensive.) If weekends are the only option, it might be better to wait a few weeks or months until some of the hype dies down. However, if you can all take a day off, or if you are a stay-at-home parent or part-time working parent like me and can go on a weekday, it is an awesome time. I really appreciate how they dont let more than 64 ticket holders in at a time, because the school groups can really overwhelm places (e.g. last week when I visited Adventure Aquarium and 3 *entire* elementary schools and parents were there at the same time. Not fun.) If your child is 2 or under, theyre free, and if you think you will go again, the season pass is a real bargain. What we liked: The ride! (A lot of negative reviewers said that when they attended, the ride was closed, which is a shame. I can understand not wanting to pay full price in that case for sure.) Really great, almost Disney quality. -the various Lego stations -the slides -the huge Philadelphia Lego city -the friendly staff -the reasonable cafe prices -the fact that season ticket holders dont have to buy timed tickets - they can just go in!! DD was a bit too young for a huge jungle gym thing and got scared, but for older kids it looks great. We also didnt check out the 4D movie but will next time. We loved our trip and will definitely be back again!

Imagination Express ride wasnt operating, technical glitches. Another Google reviewer mentioned the ride wasnt running as of last week. This Discovery Centers only been open 11 days. One ride. One. And it doesnt run. Photo taken of you and your family (on your way in to Discovery Center) costs $26-29, depending on which staffer is pitching you. Photo only. To get the decorative portfolio your picture is originally displayed in, the one on the rack, you need to buy a $37 package. For that money you get to digitally print your own pictures, keychain, magnet, change Lego backgrounds, whatever. And thats the only way theyll give you the paper frame. What a ripoff. What does the paper portfolio frame have to do with a digital package? I just want to protect my photo. So instead of taking $27, ready in my hand to give the manager, she decided to leave it. Wouldnt let me have the frame. So, keeping the paper portfolio is worth more than my business. Attention management: do what you can to create a repeat customer. Turning down commerce is just a rookie move. You got to keep the paper frame but you lost my interest in returning. Magic Memories, ha. P.S. - To any moms who skeeve dust/dirt, just look down the right side of the Pirate Ship climbing structure. A thickness of tumbledust fur on the floor, running the length of the outer wall.

Visited Legoland on a recent afternoon with my seven year old daughter. Admission is set on specific times throughout the day. The wait for day of ticket purchase admission was about four hours after we had gotten there. Luckily we had purchased tickets online so we had a set entry time already. While this set time means you cant just go on a whim it did seem to do a decent job of controlling crowd levels. The experience begins with an interactive dark ride attraction that drops you off inside the actual experience. The experience includes several themed areas (pirate ship play area, Ninjango themed area, Lego Friends themed area to name a couple). Each area had multiple building stations for the kids to interact with. My daughter and I both enjoyed ourselves and it was a good way to kill a couple of hours. Unfortunately if youre planning on spending the day here you may be disappointed.
