My first date was 3/2/12 at the metro. We celebrated my birthday at the Metro this past weekend 7/25/15. My Finance and I got there early so after dinner we could ask the Manager about a small (20) person engagement party. We DIDNT after the poor service and bulling. 1. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we sat down. 2. We sat down we didnt even open up the drink menu yet and was asked again w/little attitude felt rushed 3. We kept getting interrupted, plates and glasses were taken off our table while we still were eating our apps and asked us if we wanted them wrapped while I had just bitten into WT?. (I guess our entree was coming)4. We had ½ our apps they were wrapped but didnt notice the crab quesadilla were MIA. Server didnt come back for 30 min for us ask where they were. Or for a refill. Server didnt know where they were but they appeared total of 40 min later. Sitting Where?? Hot kitchen someone else table? 5. Told server to throw it out for me (FYI) very nicely. Maybe I should have just left them there or thrown them out myself. I didnt ask him for a manager. It took two owners John and Wife Jill with disapproving attitudes as to why I wanted to throw out the crab Q. They insisted I tell why (I felt bullied) they were standing over us looking down - so I told them I just dont want them. They kept prying drilling me. I didnt feel comfortable taking them home because they have been hanging out for a while MIA. They explained I shouldnt feel that way. That I was Wrong to feel that way. I wasnt going to change how I felt. I didnt ask for a manager nor did I ask for the crab q be taken off the check. Jill made sure to tell us they will be taken off the check with a snarky attitude. She made us feel bad. I asked her not to take it off the check. How Jill spoke to us was unacceptable and unprofessional and embarrassing to us. Next time Jill (which there won’t be) ask us what will make us happy! Just dont take $ off the bill thinking that will solve the problem. You said you do that a lot with customers. Save $ LEARN! IT didnt. What would have made us happy would be Good service (LISTEN) knowledge of the menu & bar, dont rush, if so don’t make is obvious. Every time we have gone to the metro we had problems they will never learn. I should have learned and stop going a while ago. Because they dont care! Please remember customers you complain or question or feel anything be prepared to be spoken too! My lesson is just take the food home and throw it out yourself and shut up! I will donate $20 to Manna on Main Street to prove its not about the money! Please read Eileen review below! She said it better.

I feel sad about writing this because I used t love this diner, a lot. I started to have dinner there tonite, (loved their salads) and there was a millipede that crawled across our table. I was already sitting with a drink, naturally, as anyone would be, I felt sickened by it. Granted I know millipedes are not vermine, but this unsightely thing ran across my table. Needless to say my dining companion and I decided to leave. We were then encouraged by our server to talk to the owner. We waited. This gentleman, approached up with an attack stance that scared me and pounched on me before I even had to chance to express what my thought was. He was angry, defensive and quite honestly rude. His only goal was to tell me my drinks were free and I would get a coupon for a free dinner, which by the way was the furthest thing from my mind. My goal in wanting to talk to him was to offer my suggestion as to how he might have the server hand vacuum under the booth where my companion and I were sitting, it was filhy with food obviously from the previous diners. His defensiveness brought up my shield and we went back and forth before he was able to settle down and hear me. Obviously this owner Is highly stressed out, I would go so far to say he was burnt out. He needs a vacation to breathe and ideally re-enroll in a customer service training seminar. I will not return and my word will then transfer to 7 more and those 7 more people will tell seven more and thats how word of mouth travels. Again, what a shame, I used to love this place!

Very disappointed in everything that took more than a timer and a frier to cook. The server wasnt too bad except for the fact that he dropped a fried pickle on our table and just simply left it there. That wasnt bad if it was the only issue. The big one was the hamburger. Forgive me for saying that medium well shouldnt have any pink, but medium well shouldnt have any pink. I kindly sent it back and it came back 5 minutes later still very pink. I was considering asking for a band aid to keep the blood in. The manager came over to apologize and she made me feel like she was doing me a huge favor by taking it off the bill. Well excuse me, I dont think I should have to pay for something that you couldnt get right, twice. She then promptly defended her cooks decision telling me a bleeding burger was done medium well. With that being said just make sure you compensate for their very odd cooking grades and youll probably be just fine. Order red meat with caution. Order anything fried with confidence, after all even burger King can get that right. Take notice their good reviews are mostly from years ago. Diner beware.

My husband and I planned my Mothers 70th Birthday and the management and staff were top notch from the beginning. The process was surprisingly simple. I checked it out a month before and was surprised at the level of service and affordability. Each time we called to ask question or follow up we were treated with us with respect and kindness. The wait staff who greeted me when I arrived offered a hand. I was allowed time to set up and when I asked for to small items I was accommodated immediately and with a bright cheerful smile. The food was delicious and filling and the portions were generous. Our servers-a lovely young woman with dark hair and a sweet, clean cut young man; where dynamite! They were helpful, caring and made themselves available yet not intrusive. They handled our rowdy group with patience and class. The manager a kind young blonde woman (Jill?) was exceptional. We will be back. Infact we have already recommended it to another person looking to host a party in the near future. Thank you for making the day easy and enjoyable. Be proud of your staff and your establishment.

I LOVE THIS PLACE Food: A+ (Great quality food, interesting meals, they fill you up at a good price. Decent menu selection... the soup is REALLY great! Breakfast is neat with a make-your-own omelet option, but no waffles! My husband was so sad.) Service: C (Eh... average I guess. I feel like they have a lot of new people who arent as knowledgeable as they possibly should be but if you get a seasoned waiter/waitress it is unbeatable! Once they get a little more trained im sure this place will run like a well oiled machine!!) Drink: B (selection is ...eh like any other bar in the area... Overall, not bad but pretty average and that is quite alright with me. This isnt really a bar spot its a food spot with the option of a bar area) Ambiance: B+ (quiet yet it has energy, casual yet it has some class, its a nice cozy place to be. The bar is tiny though. Also: the bar room and restaurant area are separated which is nice if your having quiet dinner)
