I babysit a 6 year old, and she takes lessons at this pool. Its a learn to swim class. On Fridays I let her decide what she wants to do usually its swimming so I bring her to this pool and I told her that we have to practice swimming for 20 minutes before she can play. After about 10 minutes of her swimming and me giving her pointers of how to swim better I got told I was not allowed to let her practice swimming anymore with me giving her pointers. They called it a private lesson and it goes against them because they offer private lessons. After I talked to the manager about this I told her I didnt understand why she was not allowed to practice swimming. She told me she had already explained it to me and walked back into her office and closed the door. Very disappointed in this city pool.

You know whats horrible about this place? I havent even walked through the doors yet and still had a horrible experience! My business partner did a courtesy call to this center to remind them of a health event we had going on this coming weekend and you know what the response was?! "Oh yeah, we threw your flyer away after you left." I cannot believe what was said to her! I hope you realize that people have businesses to run just like you. You dont know whose life couldve been changed by going to a health and wellness event and because of you, someone missed out on valuable information. Oh and for TINA to say what she said, you guys have another thing coming and you can bet whats written on the Internet will stay on the Internet forever so good luck with keeping your center open!

While the facilities are decent, the staff is awful. My entire family has monthly memberships here, and yet they will not let family members teach other family members how to swim in their pool because it is a "private lesson". Family teaching family for free! They wont even let a mother teach her son how to swim! The lady in charge went as far to say that, "when I bring my granddaughter here, I dont try to teach her how to swim." I feel that taking a stance like this is inexcusable. If they had their way the only way anyone would learn to swim would be through their overpriced lessons (Private lessons at $80/hour!). I would not recommend this pool to anyone. There are plenty more in the area that care more about you than how much money they can squeeze out of you.

We recently relocated to Plano and we are loving this rec center! Theres something for everyone in our family, so its a great investment. After being part of a big fancy gym for awhile, I really appreciate the simplicity of the fee schedule and memberships here. Were super excited about having this recreational center available for our entire family, its much more economical and family oriented. I usually walk the track and use cardio equipment, my husband plays basketball and uses weight lifting equipment, our boys play games and basketball. We havent had a chance to enjoy the pool just yet, but it looks amazing! The outdoor pool is like a resort. Everything from the locker rooms to the track is always clean and its never too crowded.

if you want to deal with rude upper management, than you will deal with the management at this center!!! i have been going to this center for couple of years now, but this year the service has been so bad that i will be canceling all the programs i have selected with them. The atmosphere is very unwelcoming and they have no customer service skills. i called to cancel my sons swimming class one day short of 2 weeks, and they have a waiting list for that class too but they are refusing to cancel the class because i am late a day of their 14 day deadline. i thought a manager would be able to understand my situation, but the way he responded to me i was shocked! for sure never going back to this center.

I just got an incedent today 03/07/15, where 2 boys followed me in rest room and trow my shirt in the toilet. I have seen them personally and the only 2 boys that followed me in the rest room. I have complained on the staff ( steve) but did not believe until he saw the shirt in the toilet. I told him how can he avoid it from happening he did not provide any solution. if those 2 boys are not discipline they will grow it out.and if the facility where I leave is not going to control this from happening then this kind of attitude will not be stop. at this time I could say this facility is not safe. I will remove this post when the facility did something to those boys that I have showed to steve.

Oak point is closed for lap swimming right now, so muehlenbeck and pac seem to be picking up the excess swim traffic. So how are they dealing with it? Well its 8 pm, 3 lanes are taken by the swim team, 5 people are stuffed in a single LTS lane, with.only a pair of lap swim lanes open. And the two middle lanes? Theyre closed so they can teach diving lessons to a couple of kids at the other end. Smack in the middle of the evening. Wbile theyre down 10 or 20 lanes b/c of Oak point. Its only going to get worse as summer increass the activity. It always does.

The people who work at this rec center are control freaks. I was even scolded by one member of staff for standing "in the wrong place". Ive heard that they also wont allow parents to teach their own kids to swim. I wont pay for their swimming classes, so I took my child to the Y instead. The staff at Tom Muehlenbeck walk around and monitor everyone who is in the recreation center. It is very uncomfortable to know that you are constantly being watched by the staff. If you want to attend this rec center, just be aware that "Big Brother is watching you".

This is a great community recreation center. It has a indoor pool heated year round. The indoor pool also has 3 small water slides an area, for small children. The out door pool has larger water slides. Indoor the have basketball foosball, tablet tennis, and pool table. Upstairs they have a indoor walking/running track circuit weight machines treadmills and eliptical in you are a resident cost is 6 dollars per day. They also have monthly and yearly rates. A fun place to get away with the kids.

I just moved to Plano, and discovered the Tom Muehlenbeck recreational center. My family joined up right away to take advantage of the huge swimming pool and the amazing waterslides. The kids love it. We play basketball, table tennis and air hockey all in the same. The staff and the members all very helpful and friendly. I wouldve given five stars but my kids goggles got lifted, perhaps by accident, and I wish there was more than one ping-pong table.

This place is fantastic, especially with the amazing rate Plano residents receive. The two basketball courts are well-maintained and modern, the equipment is new and effective, and the employees are nice people. I will say, though, that many parents abuse the location and turn it into a de facto daycare for their children. Its still a great place for gym junkies, family, and the like, not to forget that the pools are great, as well.
