To write a “positive”, “good” or “great” review for The Lasker Inn Bed and Breakfast, Galveston, Texas would be insulting to our experience. Only an EXTRAORDINARY review would do it some sort of justice. To name the reasons in their entirety would be a novel, but this is a review of why you should always go out of your way to experience the one and only exceptional places to stay for a lifetime. Out of several B&B’s that I called, Richard, of The Lasker Inn, was the only one to return my call promptly to book our one night, “surprise get away” for my fiancée and I in December of 2015. Richard and I kept in contact during our short trip from Conroe to Galveston,(secretly of course) as he knew I was surprising my soon to be bride with a romantic getaway that she SO much Deserved. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Linda, whom was also expecting us. Linda showed us around the beautiful, historic Lasker, then up to our room. To my surprise, when we approached our room door, there was a picture of my fiancée and I tied by a golden ribbon on The Grand’s door that was taken the day I proposed to her. Richard apparently went out of his way to find me on Facebook and took his time to print and post our picture to our door. My fiancée thought that I had arranged the picture to be hung, but as much as I wanted to take credit, I told her it was Richard. Our room (The Grand) was VERY spacious and furnished with a very comfortable king bed, flat screen TV (hidden in an armoire and playing relaxing music anticipating our arrival) a large walk in closet and two very large ceiling fans. The historic pathway to the wrap around porch is a slide up window the size of a door! (which was apparently used in late 1800’s) The bathroom is very spacious and updated with granite his and her sinks, a large walk in shower, towel warming rack, accompanied with more than enough Ghilcrest & Somes lotions, shampoo’s, conditioner’s, shaving kit’s, make up kit’s, bar soaps etc… that anyone could ever use in 1 day. Breakfast the next morning was a HUGE shock. As we entered the dining room, we were amazed at the amount of food that was freshly made for us. Accompanied for breakfast was another couple and we were all stuffed as Richard continued to bring out more and more fresh fruits, homemade cinnamon rolls, and and and ….there was so much great food that we (and the other couple) couldn’t possibly stuff our faces anymore. We felt very guilty about leaving some much great food uneaten at the table. But, at that point, IT WAS NAP TIME!!!! We packed up (after our breakfast nap) and said a sad goodbye to the Lasker Inn. Needless to say, and thanks to Richard, Linda and all of the staff, I headed back to Conroe a hero to my fiancée. Last but not least our wedding date is in March 2016, and because of our exceptional experience at The Lasker Inn we are now trying to change our wedding day location to The Lasker Inn, even if it means losing our $1,600 deposit to the current resort chosen in Conroe, Texas. If that doesn’t speak volumes, then I don’t know what does……?????? We will NEVER stay anywhere but The Lasker Inn in Galveston!

Absolutely the best B&B I have ever been to. Richard was an awesome host and took such good care of us. I will return ASAP. Such luxury at a great price. Suggestions for food and activities were spot on. Linda (the owner) was also very friendly.
