River Legacy is a great sanctuary. I run here very often, usually 3-4 times a week. They have plenty of winding concrete trail (of 9 miles I believe) which I never have ran completely to the end. I also enjoy the 10 miles of hiking/mountain Biking trail the park provides, and is definitely where I run the most. I live close by and frequent this park. I only did not give it five stars simply because the unpaved hiking/biking trails could expand greatly, but I still enjoy them very much none-the-less. Running along the concrete trail you will cross several bridges over the trinity river, on the unpaved hiking/biking trail you see several marsh/ponds on the southern loop, which will have you running in prairie after about 1.5 miles before you reach the West loop which will have you overlooking the trinity river for roughly 250 meters of so. The north and east loops are heavily forested. Its a trail everyone should experience!

Amazing!!! Great bike trails!!! After looking for a decent bike trail in a Arlington and east fort worth i came upon this little Gem and i must say with the constant improvements and the great maintenance the city dedicates to this park i can see why there are so many people there and why just entering it fills me with a glee that is only surpassed once i have completed my bike rides and my body is flooded with endorphins and filled with a sense of accomplishment and awe from the beautiful bike trails and the scenery once you have passed over all the bridges on the trails and have read all the little signs that give you little fast facts which is always enjoyable! Plus always have you have a good chance of seeing a little bobcat which is very exciting!!!

This park has it all. Great variations of open fields and also very dense wooded areas to bike and hike in. Has both mountain bike trails and concrete guided trails, and they seem to be pretty long rides. Mountain bike trails have clear markers for directions and also trail difficulties. A great way to escape if you want to have fun getting lost in nature, and also see lots of wildlife. My very first ride I came across an armadillo, lots of birds, and a rabbit. And apparently there are bob cats, though I have yet to see them. And also, on the mountain bike trails, there are signs everywhere saying that helmets are mandatory. I dont know about on the concrete trails, but it wouldnt be a bad idea.

River Legacy Park is one of the very, very few parks that I use to set standards for all other parks, and often, all other parks pale in comparison to its sheer size and cleanliness. There are great areas for regular daily activities, kiddie parks, pavilions, pick-nick areas and the like, the trails may be concrete, but theyre surrounded by the densest forests an woodlands that one could hope for in the midst of a city. Somewhere down the way, theres a canoe launch ramp, and the river scenery is beautiful. Being country raised, this is where I go when I want to get lost in the woods, theres more than enough thick underbrush and foliage to accomplish that. No other park compares.

River Legacy Park is incredible! There is a 7 miles paved trail choir walking, running, or biking. The trail runs along the Trinity River and there is a wide variety of wildlife. Weve seen and photographed coyotes, bobcats, rabbits, various birds, snakes, beavers and lizards. There is a nature center that is free to visit and teaches kids about the animals. This park also has multiple playgrounds a short distance from the trail. There are picnic tables and pavilions for parties. We love the park and ride bikes there frequently, and also take the grandkids to play.

This is a great trail for runners, cyclists, and walkers. Its 7 miles on the paved section, but theres no loop, so you have to go out and back. If you go early in the day theres a lot of shade and some really nice views. There are also some dirt trails near the start of the trail and these are fairly extensive, and quite a bit of fun if you like wandering around in the woods. Be sure to take water. I only saw one water fountain, though I may have missed others.

I loved going to this park when I lived in Arlington. I miss it dearly. I saw so many wild animals on my numerous trips to the park. Its more like a wildlife sanctuary than a park if you ask me. Ill never forget the day I encountered a bobcat while on my bike. I wondered at the time if I would be able to peddle fast enough to get away if it decided to attack me. All ended well, however. It wanted to go its way and I wanted to go mine and we both did.

Best park in Arlington hands down. Water fountains every mile or two and a nice cool breeze through most of it due to the river. Many pokemon go gyms and stops if your willing to ditch the car and walk or ride. Im not sure why people say to watch out for the bobcats. I havent heard of anyone being attacked and every time I see them they just ignore people and walk off into the woods. I feel safe here at night compared to other parks ive been to.

Well maintained paved walkways, striped middle lines, lots of signs throughout trail, trash cans, emergency call station, 911 markers throughout, the back of the park has a nice mountain bike trails, and there are several amphitheatres and real Parks in there. Majority of trails are under tree canopy, so theres nice shade. The Trinity runs through it, so you get nice water overlook points.

Good park for kids and adult. I enjoy the trail for road bike riding. Bring water if you plan on riding the long trail. If it really hot outside and it your first time in the trail , it better to be safe than sorry, bring water. I only recall one water bubbler way near the parking area, once you start going in deeper in the trail, there wont be one.

I love this park. Its paradise in the middle of DFW. I live nearby just for this park. I love that they preserve so much forest and keep the park beautiful. Great paved trail for a 14 mile round trip for walking, running, biking etc. Very nice hiking trails too. There are two entrances that offer access to both the paved trail and hiking trails.

Parking is well placed! If you are looking for a place to ride or walk this is an okay spot! People were not very good at picking up after their animals, as we came across this alot along the paved trails. Also Bikers werent very vocal when going around us. Definitely not for hikers! Good for running or biking if you are in the area only.

Very good trail for you and your furry child to run, walk, and view the scenery, I take my hukies here and they love it, very well kept, multiple resting areas and a nice park for the kids, a little dispaly set up along the trail, good for a bike ride or a photography shoot, also theres an area where you you can have a picnic.

The first time I visit this park was in1997. Since then River Legacy Park has grown so many acres of beautifully maintained parkland along the Trinity River. Here I could learnt about botany, went for a nice stroll, after to bike ride. Tip: If wish you can book facilities for a party or event in this gorgeous green area. ****
