I wanted to share this story that happened to my 70 year old mother. On November 17th at approximately 11 am she was driving north on highway 231 in Murfreesboro, and was hit by a golf ball that came from the VA Golf course. She called the police to file a report, but since no crime was committed they did not take a report. She then went to the golf course and explained what had happened, a gentleman that was working that day apparently asked a group of golfers if they had hit a ball that went over the fence, and nobody in that group admitted to hitting the ball. The gentleman then told her to contact the city of Murfreesboro because they own the course. She contacted the legal department and the Mayor, only to be told that they are not responsible and the golfer that hit the ball is the one that should pay for the repairs. Even though they do not have any type of safety fence installed. Now, a 70 year old women that is on a fixed income of $1800, is out $200 to fix a windshield that she did not break.

The VA is not a great golf course by any means. But who can complain about paying 6 or 7 dollars to play 9 holes of golf. sure it is basically a cow pasture formed into a golf course but it is still a fairly descent course to play when they keep it up. If you are wanting to learn golf it is a great course because it is wide open and you can not lose to many golf balls. There is not much sand and there is no water. It is definately worth the money.

I have paid $5 for driving ranges I dont know how many times. The VA course is the perfect place to hone your golf skills. NO, it will not be the best lies or pristine putting greens but, to be able to practice all stages of your game I have yet to find a better place in Mid-TN (especially for $6).

Terrible conditions but its the cheapest golf you will ever find at $8. Push cart rentals available but if you want a riding cart you must bring your own and there is no cart path. Great for getting in shape or beginners.
