I bought tickets to an event as a gift. Being a big fan of the performer, I made sure to get good seats. The front section was completely full, however, the front row in the next section back had availability. I purchased the tickets, but when we arrived, we were directed to seats several rows back from what the seating map had displayed online. We asked the staff to check to make sure we had the correct seats. They assured us we had. Then the guests on both sides of us (separate parties) mentioned they were having the same problem. We had all purchased seats in the front of our section, but we were smashed into the middle of the section instead. This was incredibly disappointing and I was so embarrassed after sharing how I got great seats. Please be aware that the seating map shown when ordering tickets does not align with the actual seats in the theatre.

The entertainment that it holds there (the performing arts in the Strand, select films at the Capitol) is class-act. Almost everything Ive seen there has left a lasting impression and filled me with wonder. The Strand part of the center is absolutely BEAUTIFUL as well, having been decorated with gold leaf; Renaissance-style paintings; and interplaying hues of red, white, and patina-like turquoise. Both sides have absolutely ample auditoriums with nice balconies as well, thiugh Ive never been in said balconies.

Beautifully restored theater. Fantastic selection of shows - truly something for everyone - at reasonable prices. Comfortable seats with unobstructed sight lines. A ladies room with as many stalls as youd find in a sports stadium (but much cleaner)! Food and beverages sold in the lobby can be brought into the theater. Personable staff. Coat check is available, and there are numerous parking garages within walking distance.

This was my first show at the Strand. The venue was easy to get in to. One inside, its quite nice. Not as opulent as other theatres in the area, but lovely nonetheless. Acoustically it was good, for the concert I attended. There are good restaurants nearby to get dinner and a drink before the show.

I really have to applaud this establishment for having such amazing staff. I frequent here often with a handicapped individual that I care for and they are so accommodating! Doors are always held open and they give extra care helping us into our seats even during crowded shows.

The performance of Micky Dolenz was absolutely amazing,the beautiful design inside was amazing.and the people were wonderful.i do hope that Micky Dolenz will come back and hope to see Peter Tork with him as well.

The Sunday matinee included a live performance on an old Wurlitzer organ for 30 minutes prior to the show; non-stop playing without sheet music and it was AMAZING! Theres more to York than meets the eye!

Just saw Josh Ritter here last night. What an AWESOME venue!! We loved it and will be back - hope York appreciates what they have in it!! Nice food & drink options within walking distance, too!!

They have amazing shows. Much to my surprise they get well known people. They had Gladys Knight this weekend they have Kevin James and always great bands great shows seriously check them out

Great place to see a show or a concert. Beautiful restored theaters. Very friend staff. Parking in a garage directly across the street...could not be any better!
