Came to this park today with my SERVICE DOG. Then saw a sign that stated NO DOGS. Now, I know I could have still gone in as my "dog" is classified as a service animal, but I didnt as I was standing up for all the other dog people out there that are not allowed to bring theirs to this park. I/we completely respect any wildlife that may be in ANY park we visit I also respect that the park wants to take care of the wildlife, however to ban all dogs? It is not the dogs fault his human is allowing him to follow his instincts or letting him off the leash. That would be the humans fault, the humans that you are still letting in to the park with the disrespectful, noisy, run amok kids they are not watching and the same humans that are leaving their trash behind!! My dog is better behaved than most humans/kids!! My dog goes EVERYWHERE with me, therefore neither of us will be going to this crap park!! Maybe you should reprimand the actual violators and ban THEM from the park instead of people and their dogs who just want to walk in a nice area.

The feature park of the west side of the Portland Metro Area, and the #1 park of THPRD. And its for very good reason. Hiking and biking, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, max stop right next to it, bus lines right nearby, very easy to access. All times of year and day one can see chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, toads, birds and other small critters scurrying about in the brush, ponds and trees. Sometimes one is fortunate enough to enjoy the the sighting of a deer, or multiple. The trails are well laid out, they have decent trail markers and nameplate placements, and multiple entrances/exits. Looking to go from Hillsboro to the 57? Or from the 57 line to the max station? Then there is no better excuse to walk through the park between TV Hwy & the Max. Merlo Station is a enjoyable short, scenic jaunt from the main entrance on Millikan way.

This has been my favorite park in Oregon since back in the late 90s when wed run through it for Aloha cross country practice. Back then there were neither bridges nor paved paths, and it was a muddy slog. Now its well-maintained with a variety of trails and beautiful areas featuring gravel paths, paved paths, and wooden path ways. I have seen squirrels, rabbits, snails, slugs, robins, sparrows, frogs, ducks, dragon flies, and so many other creatures and critters around. Plus, there are no dogs, which is a bonus.

Amazing woods ! 200yards in , and the only sound you will hear are the birds chirping on lichen covered branches , leaves rustling on the grounds and wind whistling on the tall Douglas fir tops ! So close to the city and yet such a pristine piece of forest! Very well kept ; thanks to the Park management and the volunteers who spend the time improving the condition of the trails! The info-signs on the trails are a great and easy way to know the native flora and fauna.

This is such a wonderful park. From the freshest air to all the wildlife, its a great place to take a walk or jog to clear your mind and enjoy nature. My family and I have lived close to this park for 15 years, and every time we take a walk together, we see at least one animal like squirrels, deer, bunnies, herons, owls and snakes! And as far as I know they are many places that allow dogs so why critizes the one park that dosent?

I cant take my leashed well behaved older dog for a walk around this park? I clean up after her and would never disturb any of the wildlife. Honestly it just makes me mad... its a park, outdoors, nature and animals. I understand there are people who are irresponsible with their dogs... but dont penalize us all! I live right next to it... its literally in my backyard and I cant walk my dog there.

We stopped here on a whim when I felt like I just needed to go on a walk. It was quite and beautiful and I didnt feel like I was in the middle of a city. The paths were all paved which made the accessible to many different people. There were also multiple side paths if you wanted to get away from the main path and people. Id definitely recommend it as nice hike to take with those young or old.

This park is beautiful. I love moss on trees! There is a boardwalk that goes through a portion of this park and it makes it very accessible. It is a little narrow, but as long as you go slow it is enough to pass others. Bicyclists like to go through here, making it feel a little dangerous, but as long as youre aware theyre around you can avoid them.

Forest in the city. About 5 miles of great trails, about 2 miles paved. Lots of wildlife: deer, owls, squirrels, rabbits, birds, newts, nutrea, herons, ducks, beavers. Used to be muddy in the winter rains, but most of the muddy areas are gravel now. Hiked here every day for years until I moved away. No place like it, except maybe Forest Park.

The park is gorgeous and the trails are wonderful. You can choose a paved patch or just a dirt trail or a combo of the two. We walked a different way yesterday and it was all new to us. We never seem to take the exact same way which is nice. They have restrooms that are always fairly clean and a water fountain for before or after your way.

Beautiful running trail in Beaverton. Had everything you could want - big beautiful trees, paved running trails and easy/free parking. As a female, I also liked that the trails were populated enough that I never felt I was running alone through a wooded area but no so crowded I felt like frogger. Really lovely area, I’ll be back!

I very much enjoy this park! Every time Ive gone with kids in tow and we all have a blast. There are also some pretty cool programs run here during the summer where the kids learn a lot about frogs, ponds, nature, etc... The trails are fairly well marked and there isnt much up and down, for those that want a less intense walk.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the Beaverton area. There are several different types of forest areas, and the wildlife is abundant. Its easy to get to, parking is plentiful, and is adjacent to food and entertainment. Its also great for playing Pokemon go! Please respect the paths and dont damage the forest.

Currently my exclusive spot for my walking regimen! There is such a wide variety of trails to enjoy that only get better once youve figured out how theyre all connected. Can get crowded at more popular times and not everyone is prepared to encounter those getting their workout, but the less populated times are bliss!

Absolutely amazing park! Lots of fresh air and tons of trails! There are tons of little signs littered throughout the path that provide very interesting information about the forest. The facilitys are up kept, and the staff is super nice! Great exhibits for kids. Tons of pokestops, pokemon, and two pokemon gyms!

An incredible park in the heart of the city. I love this place and walk here a couple of times a week. Lots of trails without concrete and lots of trails with it as well. Several different types of ecosystem to be viewed here and wildlife if you are quiet. Spooked a fawn the other day. That was quite a thrill!
