I visited this casino from out of town as I was driving a friend from Detroit to Pheonix. We found their website and made a hotel reservation, but didnt realize their hotel website does NOT have the address to them on it (caused problems for us). Once we figured out the address/directions to them, we were able to easily find parking as it was a slow Wednesday night for them. Anyway, we were welcomed by a very nice lady at the front desk, who showed us a suite and actually sold us on the upgrade and we were happy with the room. The front desk lady told us to try out one of the two restaurants in the casino and said they were pretty good. We are avid gamers and decided to hit the casino floor which was across a small walkway outside to the casino. Once we opened the door we were greeted with the absolute WORST cigarette smell ever and Ive been to a TON of casinos and never been in one like this. It wasnt smoky, but smelled like one of those smoking rooms at the airport (times 10). We walked over to the bar/grill named Autographs which had some tvs in the booths which was nifty and the smell was still on blast in there, but not quite as bad. We ordered our food which was on par with a typical bar/grill type place, nothing really extra at all, but I didnt end up eating most of my food because the smell made my stomach upset. The server was very nice. We then went to start gambling and it was OK. They had some very old slot machines all over the casino and their high limits area had the OLDEST slot machines Ive ever seen in my life. We then went to play blackjack on their tables and they had a 50 cent ANTE FEE for each hand of black jack which doesnt seem like a lot, but if youre only betting $5, it can get quite expensive. The BJ dealer said the ante was a tax to get the gaming approved at the casino (unconfirmed). We ended up playing $40 and then stepping away from it to go play the old slots. We gamed for about 3 hours including the ultra-old high limit machines for a bit and then went to our suite. I tried to get the room and/or our bar food comped in the morning and they didnt give back a penny. If youre desperate for a casino, then I guess youll have to deal with all the nuances (and terrible smell). I would keep my money and skip it.

Have gone to my last concert here, went to see Night Ranger last night and security was in the face of everyone who took a phone out, and I understand if you are using a flash, but they wouldnt let you take a photo with your wife, saw them harass and toss out many people and it was one security guard in particular, fat guy, shaved head. I wasnt one of the ones doing the photos but it was so distracting because security was flashing flash lights across the room at people who were, so it disrupted the entire concert, this was every few seconds, not once every half hour or so. What should have been handled is the over serving of most of the people who left their seats in the front and occupied the seats in the back and were cussing, drunk off their asses and ruining the concert for everyone nearby who paid for their seats. it was like a free for all the way people where just helping themselves to any open seat, and causing discomfort to those who came to listen to the concert. Security came up to the drunks in the back of section 202, FINALLY and because they could be charmed by the 40 year old blonde adolescent then they did nothing at all about their behavior. If your middle aged and acting like nobody else within earshot matter, then you are seriously one self centered piece of garbage, yes Im talking to you idiots in the back of 202 that ruined the concert for all of us with your cussing and screaming, yelling "38 Special Sucks!" and not sure what that meant at a Night Ranger concert but maybe they didnt realize where they were because they were so drunk. Never again will I go to the "Never Win" casino. Most of the acts hit multiple venues on these casino tours anyway, so pick another casino if you can. There are many nicer venues.

Just returned from a weekend at Riverwind, and I have never had a worst experience. I have played at Riverwind for years, but I am afraid I have made my last visit. I received a coupon in the mail stating I could receive an ice cooler with up to $500 in free play from 12:00pm-4:00pm. I drove 3 hours and was able to get to/an in the casino by 3:30pm. I was instructed to go to the River Lounge for the event. As I walked in, there were men setting up/taking down tables. I asked(along with a group of other people by now looking for the same thing)where we were suppose to go to pick up our cooler. Their response was, "Its over". We asked why, and they stated it had closed down already. The coupon said til 4:00pm, not 3:15pm!!!!!! So needless to say me, along with a group of about 15 others(that we know of) came away with nothing. When asked if we could even get some free play, we were told no because all of the coolers had been given out, but they could give us a free meal! Really? You send coupons with a time to redeem them and you drive 3 hours with 30 minutes to spare on the event time, and they are all gone? Something isnt right here!!!!!!!!! And along with all that, I have to agree with quite a few of the comments earlier about the employees walking around with their little tablets. The exact same thing happened. I was winning on a certain machine, 2 different employees walked by....never saying a word, and within 2 minutes the machine shutdown. Did I love to play at Riverwind? Yes! Will I ever go back again? NO!!! Bad experiences are bad experiences....and are not easily forgotten!

Very disappointed in Riverwind... Ive been to this casino four times prior to tonight, and not once have I walked out with more than $5. However, I understand this is gambling. What really upset me with my visit was that I was finally up about $20 after being there for 2 hours, and I was hitting bonus games and doing well. The ringer kept going off even though I was only winning about $3 a bonus feature. All of a sudden a guy comes up to the machines we were playing on (quick hit) and starts sticking in a ticket, not playing or sitting, and then walking off. We both immediately started losing and he kept coming back and watching us very obviously. Ive heard about this before, and no I am not paranoid because ive kept returning to riverwind thinking it will be different. The almost same thing happened right before we left. I know some people who have won but every time I go I leave feeling exremely dissapointed. All Ive wanted was to win any small amount. Also, we were harrassed by someone who asked us for money and tried to touch me RIGHT IN FRONT OF AN EMPLOYEE. I will not be coming back to go In feeling hopeful and excited, then soon leaving with my entire night ruined.
