Great location, nice views, but we had problems. We had a reservation for a group of 11 at 7:15 and arrived on time to find no hostess at the hostess desk. A group of 4 was waiting in front of us. After waiting 10 minutes we hunted down a waitress who said that there was no hostess and that a waitress would be with us shortly. Finally got seated. staff was slow to take drink order and bring water pitchers. Food order took waaaayyyyy to long come out; took an hour from ordering to get food. Our group didnt order anything complicated, fish and chips, fish sandwich, walleye and halibut dinners; I dont know what took an hour, we were never given an explanation as to what was taking so long. When we questioned our server she replied that our food would be out when it was ready. We only got offered one drink refill in our nearly 2 hours there. Were not offered dessert. portions were small, prices were high. food was good, but not worth the delay and price. Too bad as the location and room are very nice.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for their beautiful views and food for the past 2-3 years. I have always enjoyed the food and really loved the chicken wings (even though I dont consider myself a big wing person). We hadnt been to Horizons Restaurant in quite a while and I was really looking forward to it - either they have changed food vendors, have changed chefs or both because the wings they served us were so small and bony we sent them back (not at all what we were used to enjoying) and the prime rib that was ordered (on special) was so fatty I managed to eat 3 bites and called it a night. This experience was vastly disappointing. We will be back for the gorgeous sunsets but will not be back for the food.

Food isnt consistent, its very overpriced, and the quality isnt great. Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful lake view, but they definitely need to work on improving their food.
