This is my favorite coffee shop to visit when in Fargo. The drinks are great, the service might not be the speediest, but orders are prepared very well and with interesting conversation to boot. I always find a crowd of interesting, interested people to visit with or a quiet corner to read a book I bring or one from the great selection of used books they sell at great prices. The outdoor patio in back is beautiful and full of greenery in the summer and artwork all year, and theres plenty of bike or car parking. There is often live music, and local art events and other community events are commonly held here. Local artists welcome visitors to their studio space in the basement, and I love that the operation is worker owned-and-operated and so committed to the community! It feels like a dynamic homebase for the Fargo-Moorhead community.

I love this little hole-in-the-wall place. Its charming and earthy. A variety of shows on their small stage (adopt a cat, open mic comedy night on tuesdays, poetry readings, art shows, vegan breakfast specials, etc) during the nights and weekends. Service is polite. Area is small but that adds to the charm. Theres seating around a small bar, fold out chairs for the shows, tables with chairs regularly, and a couple couches. Food selection changes (they do serve vegetarian and vegan food/snacks) and coffee/teas are always served.

I really like the feel of this cafes outdoor patio and the drink I got (chai tea latte) was delicious! What I didnt like was the employees behavior while I was here. When I told him I was having issues connecting to the cafes wi-fi, he simply said "Theres nothing I can do about that, sorry". Beyond that, he also smoked out where the customers sit and appeared to be having social time the whole shift, which gave me the impression that he didnt really want to be working, and made me feel burdensome as a customer.

This place has open mic nights for local artist to show case their talents. Tuesday is the night EVERYONE needs to check out the local funny people! Come out, forget its only Tuesday, and get your laugh on. Reason for the three stars is because the employee who works these nights needs to stop being so pretentious! I will say once his costumer service skills get better than maybe people might order more than just water

I really value the owners standing by what they believe in, and I give them my business accordingly. More than that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have gone there with people who other people see as different, and the staff at Red Raven treat them with respect and kindness- and this DOES NOT happen everywhere! Thank you Red Raven!

This is a cool little hipster espresso bar with a small stage for open mic nights and lots of local color/flavor hanging up around the walls. An interesting hangout, this place is open until a 11:00 PM which makes it a real winner. The coffee and espresso drinks are better than good but not exceptional.

There are a lot of hip coffee joints in Fargo, but the Raven is the hippest. Great staff, excellent coffee, and a diy-refurbed basement atmosphere that cannot be topped. Run by young people, for people of all ages. A pillar of community here. Cheers.

Hands down my favorite coffeehouse in the FM area. Very comfortable, at-home feeling. Great patio. Coffee tastes amazing, better than anywhere else. Local art hangs on the wall and is usually very reasonably priced.

I came for espresso (cappuccino) and was disappointed. The grinds were overextracted and bitter, and the milk not foamed correctly so ended up with a small amount of milk in my espresso with a lot of bubbly foam.
