I played this course today because Im looking for a house on or near a golf course in Asheville. I saw a house I was interested in the Reems Creek golf community, but after playing the course Ill be looking elsewhere. It is an interesting design, and it could be one of the best courses in the Asheville area. But the lack of maintenance makes it almost unplayable. The sand traps have no sand and are apparently never groomed. The cart paths are downright dangerous, with huge potholes and spots that have have completely washed away and disintegrated. The fairways are terrible--weeds and bare spots everywhere. The greens are, by comparison, OK, but too soft and slow, not properly groomed. There are workers all over the course, but most of them dont seem to be doing anything, other than smoking and talking among themselves. They also are rude and not respectful of golfers when they come by. The clubhouse is shabby and looks like it hasnt had any updates or improvements in at least a decade. As one who has played many courses in the Carolinas, I frankly was stunned. Ive seen dozens of better maintained municipal courses all over the state. If I were a home owner in this development, I would be raising hell, because the condition of this course detracts from the value of your home. This could and should be a gem that enhances the value of the whole development. Instead, it has become an eyesore that drives potential buyers away.

Ive played the course many times over the past two seasons and am encouraged that the condition (particularly dealing with historic water management problems on low lying holes) has improved dramatically). I am still not a fan of the target golf (irons off the tee) on most of the par 4s on the front side, but the greens are good and consistent and the overall condition of the course is very good compared to others in the Asheville area right now. If Warrior would approve a budget for fixing (or eliminating some of the impossible to maintain) sand traps, it would be one of the best public courses in the area IMO.

I will be honest with you, this isnt the Reems Creek I knew before Warrior Golf took over. The sand traps need to be overhauled completely. They used to be that fine white "Columbia" sand but now theyre just packed red clay, thin lies and gravel. Lots of water and mud in the traps and it hadnt rained for a few days. The cart paths will beat you up! The fairways are in really good shape and the greens rolled true. Its still a great layout that requires you to think as you play, you cant just bomb it off the Tee.

Played May 2016. It is a very picturesque course with sharp grades and angles. Definitely a unique layout. First timers should play conservatively and not hit long, especially on holes where the green is not visible. Had no issues and check in was smooth. Having a course map will help. Well worth the views.

The golf course is great and the service is amazing the only issue is the golf course Pathways they are hazardous (massive potholes and degrading asphalt in combination with some very steep hills is a bit treacherous) so please be careful!

An inexpensive gem that meanders through hill and dale with some nice views. The bunkers were essentially not maintained, mostly filled with water after a previous days thunderstorm. But that aside, an enjoyable and relaxing track.

This is a great golf course. Staff is really the best. Greens in good conditions. Hills present plenty of challenges and the course is fun to play. I give it four stars, there is always room for improvement.

Course in wonderful shape. Marvellously difficult. Beautiful views all around and from the sixteenth tee the only comparable views are on some Colorado courses. I had a great day but not score-wise.

Good golf. Beautiful course. But, if you are going to required carts on cart path only or 90 degree turns please repairs your cart paths they are in very poor condition
