1st of all, its a dog run. It is easy to get to along a pleasant walk through the Victory Blvd side of Silver Lake Park. It is divided into two parts; a large common area for socialization and such and a long narrow run for dogs who are less eager to commune amicably with others. My experiences here have been very pleasant and most of the pet owners are very conscientious where matters of safety and sanitation are concerned. Someone usually leaves plastic bags attached to the fence by the waste basket for those who forget to bring or have used up their own. It has never been really crowded when I have been there, a big plus for me. The conversations are often very entertaining and dogs diverse.

Silver Lake Park is a great find to get away from the bustle of the city. The trails go all the way around the Lake and the bridge even crosses in the middle for some excellent views. The park is spectacular in all seasons, especially spring with the blossoms and fall with all the colors. On weekends, the road through the park is closed for vehicles so it is an especially good time for riding a bicycle or running through the park. The upper part of the park has a dog run, fields for soccer, and a small playground for the young ones. If you havent checked out this park, it is highly recommended! (tip- best place for parking is on the Forest Ave side)

Its a very nice, quiet park surrounding Silver Lake. Theres a bridge across the lake that people fish from. Also a dog run, childrens playground, and lots of benches and trees. The only problem with this park, like most NYC parks that dont get private funding (Central Park, Bryant Park, etc) is that its poorly maintained and somewhat decrepit. There are no on-site park employees, and no bathroom. However none of this detracts from using and enjoying the park to walk, jog, sit, picnic, etc.

Ive never expected to come across such a clean and not busy park in NY. We even saw rabbits running wild in middle of a park, the air is clean and fire flies are all over at evening hours Lots of place for picnic, nice area for biking, small playground in one part of park. Its just like a complete getaway from the city rush.... the only thing we couldnt find a bathroom even though its listed as it exist somewhere in a park.

Its a beautiful park but Not like it used to be. Clearly there is no maintenance at the park and the flowers that used to be there are all gone and areas of the park smell like urine. 15 years ago it was so beautiful. What happen to this park? No one cuts the grass either. There are also areas were grass need to be either placed or replaced. Its simply a dirty park.

I know the parks department isnt going to read this, but hey someone should be fired. This place needs some landscaping help. No one takes care of this place. Very over grown. Someone needs to weed wack some weeds. SILVER LAKE? There are so many over grown tree and weeds you cant see the Lake. Need to cut them down.

Silver lake park is a beautiful, quiet getaway. There are several species of birds that may be observed as well. I only wish the parks department would allow for better pedestrian access to the lake and include activities like paddle boats. Theres so much potential for this park.

Tranquil little park in Staten Island. Great bike and running paths with beautiful views abound. Plenty of grassy areas to lay out a blanket for a quick picnic as well. Definitely recommend visiting if youre in the area and have some time to kill.

The park is a hidden jam at the heart of the Island. It is easy to get to, and there are is free parking on the streets. I had enough of running on treadmills indoor. This is my new natural running spot. Such a huge difference.

Beautiful park. Well maintained and safe. Sometimes you can even see wild rabbits. I just wish there were bathrooms available and that the dog run were larger and maintained to the same level as the rest of the park.

Awesome Park. Lots of wide open spaces to turn and play. Very quiet! On cool or rainy days when the park is less frequented, it has a post-apocalyptic vibe to it.
