I live in AZ, but wanted to give this new course a try while visiting family in Las Cruces. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Coming from an area with hundreds of top notch golf courses all within a 50 mile radius, Id say that this course is MEDIOCRE at best. The staff (from the front desk to the marshal) was unprofessional, unhelpful and quite frankly, JUST RUDE. I dont think anybody here has actually ever worked at a golf course. We came here with a foursome and the speed of play in front of us was extremely slow. There was no starter and they obviously booked more tee times than they could accommodate. We were told twice to "speed up" when the group in front of us had 2-first timers who couldnt hit a beach ball if they tried (kinda hard to speed up when you got a show like that going on in front of you). To make matters worse, the guy behind us and his wife were playing out of 1 bag (what is this putt putt?) We finally got sick of being in the middle of this big cluster**** and left after 13 holes. We wouldve stayed for drinks afterwards, but unfortunately the clubhouse is just a giant tent with a couple of tables outside. $60 to play 13 holes on this course again... not a chance, ever. If youre looking to play 18 in the Las Cruces area, go to the NMSU course. Youll pay half the price of Red Hawk and have a hell of a time. * 1 star for you, Red Hawk.

I am in Las Cruces for business and brought the clubs to hit some local courses after work. I have played now two, Sonoma Ranch and Red Hawk. Both have their pros and cons but I really am fond of Red Hawk. Lush green course surrounded by scrub brush, desert, and mountains. I much prefer that over a course surrounded by homes (always concerned I might hit one plus it just seems you are golfing out in the nature). Green fees were very reasonable $31 which included cart (just a tad over Sonoma Farm). Course is in excellent condition and is very challenging from the tips (7700 yards) and gold (7170 yards) tees. Service was very good. I will be back.

Legit Top flite golf course in the south west Better than all the others around the area better than sonoma ranch (las Cruces) better than Sonoma ranch (las Cruces better than Painted dunes (elpaso) its legit as close to a PGA course you can around here. Its difficult yes so stock up before going but worth the Experience the more o go the better I get!

Played painted dunes in El Paso on the way to Tucson golf trip from Louisiana. Played Red Hawk on our way home. Was very pleased with this course. Winds got up to 30 miles per hour which made it very challenging. Greens were perfect, smooth and fast. Very nice layout. Would definitely play this course again.
