Its kind of pathetic that a school the size of Rutgers has such tiny gyms. This one is probably the largest but they still only have two power racks. That comes out to about one racks per 23,000 students. Bravo, Rutgers. Seeing other reviews I can only conclude that most of the other people here have never been to another decent sized gym.
On of my favorite gyms on campus, might be biased because I live on Busch. But has way more room and if you go at the right times (12-3 Ive noticed) you can get a full work out in with no wait for machines. People that go there are also so nice, willing to workout during your breaks and vise versa
The fitness center is often crowded, but is otherwise good. I believe these are the largest pools at Rutgers. Racquetball is fun, and there are 8 courts so there usually arent waits at off peak hours.
Olympic size pool. Lots of spectator seating with clear views of the pool. Concession stand had very reasonable prices. Only negative is that ventilation is not great so it gets very hot.
Best gym on a Rutgers campus by far. Has a huge pool that you can swim in without any issues if you wake up early enough. Tons of sports courts, and its really clean and new.
Was here for junior Olympics, do yourself a favor, pack a cooler and bring food from home or supermarket. If youre late for any event bring a beach chair.
Facility is good. But two times I go there trying to swim after get changed, the pool was closed with no notification. Should notify people in advance.
The fitting room is sometimes full of students, swimming pool is perfect. With 2 full basketball court, 1 valleyball court, and 3 badminton court.

New rec center on Busch. Definitely the best rec center at rutgers. The pools are huge and the place is very clean, even the gym.
This gym is relatively small and always packed, but it does have a dance room, several basketball courts, and an Olympic pool.
I think this is the best athletic center at Rutgers. Has great gym, Olympic standard pool and facility for many sports.
Easy parking, Olympic size pool, spectator seats are somewhat comfortable comparing to other swimming venues.
Very nice gym. Best out of all Rutgers gyms with Olympic size pool. Free for Rutgers staff.
Small gym but they have an Olympic pool, so its OK, definitely glad i started going there
Loved playing racquetball here when I attended RU. Its worth the trip from College Ave!
I visited the pool for a swim competition. Great, huge facility at Rutgers University.
Clean, friendly employees. Small facility compared to the size of the school.
Nice college gym, play basketball here. Wait times can be on the long side.
Best among Rutgers gyms: spacious, convenient and high quality facilities
One of the best Rutgers gyms. It just gets busy/full during peak times.
The gym is clean but they need more basketball for students to borrow
Way too small. Not enough equipment/machines. Usually very crowded.
Pool is amazing, well lit. Although the seating not as good.
Scarlet swimming, pool parties, great gym and indoor courts.
This is by far my favorite Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.
The pools are always clean and it is very roomy in there
This is one of the best facilities offered by Rutgers.
Best gym for Rutgers students, faculty and alumni.
Good facilities but the main gym is usually packed
Perfect space for doing excercise, very convinient
Great place for students, love the racquetball!
Excellent, well designed and complete facility.
Easily crowded, especially the lifting area.
