I was one of the people at this bowling alley along with the previous reviewer (Soun). Its true that we were minding our own business when one of the other patrons playing pool made a racist comment. I overheard the comment and confronted the person. As mentioned already, we were the ones made to leave. And yes, it was basically us against the majority of the bar patrons. A few other people at the bar stood up for us and said the we were not at fault, but that amounted to nothing. My suggestion is that if you and your group are not white and youre desperate enough to go bowling there, stick to bowling. Do not go to the bar and mix with the regulars. If you are not white, more than likely you will not be welcome. The bowling alley employees will not do anything to help you.

I bowl there on occasion. The guy at the counter with the earring always seems to have an "I hate my job" attitude. The waitresses dont seem to be slow to get to the tables but it seems like when theyre in the bar waiting on drinks it takes a while. The waitresses are pretty personable and talk to customers which makes you feel wanted in an establishment. Ive gotten water from the older bartender with blonde hair a few times and she always seems to have a snobby attitude like Im pestering her by asking for something other than an alcoholic beverage. The food usually seems pretty good and is usually out in a timely matter. All in all its a nice place but maybe some help behind the bar/waitressing when they are busy or some better attitudes at the counter would be helpful

so sitting ther finish off our pitcher of beer inside the bar....... guy makes a racial comment to me.... all hell broke loose... long story short. the entire bar was on us to get out. Even though we had zero fault in the incident. There entire family was at the bar for some reason, their family was working there telling us to get the F.out! seriously insane! it was 3 asain guys vs entire freakn bar of 30 people... telling us to leave when it was thier family member that starting his stupid mouth. We didnt do anything physical but we just wanted to know why the hell do we have to leave when its obvious this guy causing trouble.... very stupid! so, this blog is 5 star lane is a RACIST bowling place to hang out. watch out minorities! k

The waitresses are not good, and a good part of that is because they are way understaffed all the time!!! Dont wait for a waitress, they may never come! I Bowl up there on Fridays and they have two waitresses working the whole bowling alley! If your the owner and you are reading this REMEMBER (the longer people are waiting for drinks the less money your bar is making! Double the wait staff and you will double your profits, they make all there money off tips anyway. One of my friends waited 25 minutes for a beer! The scoring machines are old as hell too! I will say this, the guys working the counter always do a good job and the Pizza at this place is freakn GOOD!

These people that work here need to learn how to learn how to treat their customers. First of all, I go there frequently because it is close to my house, plus its cheap on mondays and thursdays. Every single time I go there, they give HORRIBLE SERVICE. The workers have a bad attitude, even though my friends and I do not cause trouble at this bowling alley. We go there, bowl, have fun, keep to ourselves and go. They never say thank you or have a nice day. They just throw the shoes on the table and take your money. They are not only racist, they are very rude to younger adults. These people either should get a new attitude or quit their damn job. I hate this place.

Best bowling night alley in the metro Detroit area. Employees and owner are friendly and good people. So I dont get why all the people are saying this s*** . Take ur s*** somewhere else. If u dont actually bowl competitive and for fun I wouldnt be talking. Plus u go there for the bowling not for someone to put up with ur s***. Please stop on by and visit .

The atmosphere and the food they also had a decent bar if im recalling things correctly. As for the aforementioned "racism" thats a single person who is reacting because they cant get their way. (I detest false prejudice) I happen to be American of north african descent and i had no problems here. Friendly staff and great apitizers.

I called Five Star Lanes to ask about open bowling and the amenities. I was "greeted" by a very rude woman who gave me almost zero information and told me to call back later. She couldnt get off the phone with me fast enough. Needless to say I will be spending my money at a different bowling establishment.

Weird policy on large groups. pay for 2 hours? or 2 games but then they let you get part way through the 3rd game and then the lane just shuts down..... Almost all of the bowling balls have holes for children. Very few adult sized balls. ALL of those are 16lbs.

If i could give a zero out of 5 i would. The staff was very rude to our group of people, and one of the regulars swore at us as we walked by. Would never bowl there again even if they paid me.

Five Star Lanes is the nicest bowling alley in Metro Detroit. Its very clean, the equipment is top of the line, and the staff is great. I highly recommend this bowling alley.

The customer service for bowlers is horrendous. Jimmy, the counter man on Saturday nights, could not be ruder. As a league bowler, never experienced this in my life.

This place is obviously sucks the staff had us wait 2 hours to bowl then added another 30 to 40 minutes. But we saw open lanes and we could feel the racist vibes.

Rude staff. Skeevy patrons. The facility itself is fine. I would absolutely not open bowl there again and I would rather eat dirt than bowl on a league there.

Best bowling alley in the area. Staff is very friendly and prices are very reasonable. There are several lanes and even some options for decent food.

Beer buckets are a great bargain. Current music. Cleanest bowling alley Ive ever seen. Concession pizza is always fresh.

Pretty standard bowling alley. Good beers on draft. $3 for shoes and $3 per lane per person. Not terrible pricing.

They have specials on Monday for $1.50 a game. It is up to date with electronics and the alley id very clean.
