Ive been going to this course for many years, as it is probably the best value in the area. Leaps and bounds have been made in the layout compared to what it was years ago. Crystal Lake has a lot of potential to be great. However, the conditions are extremely inconsistent, which can have a major impact on your experience. Also, their hasnt been a proper clubhouse for a few years and the unfinished houses on the front nine are an eye sore. The owner has had significant fiscal issues and problems with the development.

Great improvement to the condition of the course. Head pro is a good guy. Staff in the bar and snack area are very nice. This course is a great value. I gave this course a poor review, though, due to one of the rangers, who was quite rude. Unfortunately, this is somewhat of a common problem at courses that use rangers. The courses would benefit by providing rangers with some training in public relations.

The course has potential, but it really needs to work on scheduling. There is almost no point to making a tee time, as they just let anyone walk on and try to squeeze everyone in. There is always a wait, and the rounds end up being painfully slow. No organization in the scheduling whatsoever. Conditions are fairly rough, but a lot is under construction, so hopefully theyll improve once that is finished.

Pretty sure they arent lying, the crystal lake can definitely be found on 15th hole, just crystal clear water there. A lot of goose droppings everywhere. Golf was slow, but the course is open enough to find most errand shots.

front nine in real rough shape. lots of dirt on tee boxes and in fairways especially holes 4 & 5. This has been under construction for 3-4 years now.. Back nine not too bad, but better choices in the area.

Course is in great shape considering how dry it has been. Hope the impending sale keeps it running as it is now.
