I want to leave a honest review about the frustration the past week has been with this business. My fiancé and I love this building and would really like to get married here. We were given a contact by the name of Amy who apparently is the only person we can discuss open dates with. We have emailed, called, and text with Amy and have gotten short, very delayed, and vague responses back. We have clearly shown much interest in spending our thousands at this venue and unfortunately this business has shown they could care less about our money or our time. I understand that Amy maybe busy but her lack of communication reflects very poorly on the customer service of this business. We finally got a email thay offered a 10am meeting with her. We responded we would be their. Of course we are here and this year is nowhere to be found. We have spent a hour trying to get ahold of her and NOTHING. This is so frustrating as a potential client to be treat this way. I hope whoever owns this venue reads this and understand the poor service we have received. We will be sure to let others know about our experience with the Gillispie. The other 4-5 venues we have already looked at responded within 24 hours with all the info we needed.

I found the Gillespie from my florist/wedding planner the Flower Studio. The owner of the Flower Studio is the most amazing man I have ever met. He is a genius and the most creative person I know! When he showed me this absolutely beautiful building, the Gillespie I was so excited. I thought he ran the Gillespie as well, he should because the staff there is not good. They dont call you back, they give you different answers when you actually get an answer, they are rude, then the staff changed and what I was told and signed are now not being honored. It has been a nightmare. My florist has been my lifesaver because he has done so many events at this location so he has helped me deal with the staffs cluster mess of how the Gillespie is ran. I hope the new staff can turn the service around, I hope no one experiences the craziness I had. I guess I just got caught in the shuffle of changes down there. So sad that such a beautiful building is ran so poorly. I would have given 5 stars if the staff would be helpful and nice.

My daughters wedding reception was held at The Gillespie May 1 2016. Michelle was our coordinator and she could not have been more helpful and responsive to us. She was so reassuring and everything went very well. The reception was held in The Loft and we found it wonderful! Just what my daughter wanted. I will admit I was hesitant to book The Gillespie after reading some of the reviews, however I am thrilled that I did. We did not find any of the negative remarks to be true for us. Michelle responded always to emails and texts promptly. I could not be happier with our experience and I would recommend this facility to anyone!

The Gillespie is a beautiful venue for events, the floor is particularly exquisite and overall the atmosphere is great for a high caliber programs. I worked closely with Erin & Rachel who were flexible with our program and made sure to work with us through every detail. On the night of Rachel was great! She was proactive with our needs, available throughout for questions and concerns and provided a high level of service!

Wonderful wedding reception in the main hall. Very nice cocktail hour upstairs on the balcony. Food was delicious! The atmosphere is very cool, however, the interior does need some TLC. Also, the acoustics in the hall were not to our liking. The music was so loud we werent able to talk or visit with the others at our table. I guess thats a matter of individual taste.

It is a very nice old building, but if you host an event there youve gotta make it work for you. The windows are a bit dirty, and some parts of the building are not in great shape. When you provide with the right decoration for the right occasion then it is definitely a very suitable option for your event.

Great location for wedding and other functions. Industrial feel to the location which may not appeal to everyone. Catering and service was ok, bit remember to factor in clear up time into your scheduling.

beautiful place for the wedding, however it is just as loud as a night club, cant hear each other talk. the cho is horrid. The bathrooms need an upgrade very badly
