Wow, if you spend the time this place is amazing! Galleries explore very prominent citizens from Marietta (for just one example the general responsible for authorizing the Berlin Airlift). The first Congressional Medals of Honor ever issued (during Lincoln administration) were issued for a daring train raid that began AT THIS historic hotel site. A huge military gun collection spanning nearly 3 centuries. Complete uniforms from war heroes...This place is AMAZING. They said they have a free iPhone app due in late Jan 2012. I will go and get it for sure! What a great visit.

Great place to visit. There are wonderful permanent exhibits to go through and exhibits that change frequently with very fun and interesting subjects. There are some great things for kids to do and if youre wanting to go outside they have an Aviation Wing for the airplane enthusiast. The museum has a warm and welcoming feeling to it with very helpful staff and volunteers who are willing to answer any questions and give you some extra background history on people. Definitely recommend stopping in and taking a gander.

Its a history museum. You either enjoy it or you dont. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the exhibits were very unique. It felt like an experience that you wouldnt be able to get somewhere else because of the unique history of the area. Also, the surrounding area is a great place to spend the day.

Great experience - easy to miss. Originally a cotton warehouse, converted to hotel. Union spies stayed here before stealing General locomotive leading to great train chase. Some artifacts remain. The rest of museum covers broader Marietta history. Small museum but well worth visit.

This museum is a great attraction for locals and people stopping through Marietta if you want a taste of Mariettas local history. The museum takes you through decades of history. Cost is only $7 per person. Definitely a good stop to make if youre ever on the Marietta Square.

This is a gem just off the Marietta Square. I had no idea it even existed. But theres several fun activities and items for you to see. Its not very big, should take no more than two hours at the most
