We went there for the wine tasting and bought 3 bottles of wine. The person helping us gave us the wrong bottle of wine (one that I tasted and really disliked) I realized the mistake when I got to our hotel and due to the weather I was unable to turn around and return the wrong wine. In the morning on our way back home I stopped by the winery to exchange the wine and was told that they could not help me, even though it was their employees falt that I got the wrong order. So now Im stuck with a $20 bottle of wine that I cant stand and I never got the muscadine wine I wanted. Way to leave a customer dissatisfied

I read some poor reviews on Habersham Winery just before my trip to the area, but decided to go there anyway since we were making stops at all the local places. Found this winery to be just as others have said. Not one person spoke to us or offered us service. We waited about 15 minutes to have a turn at the tasting bar. There were one 4 people at the bar and 2 bartenders. Very disappointed. But I have to say every other establishment we went to in the Saute Nacoochee area, the people were very friendly and warm and gracious. These people could learn a thing or two from the other business owners in the area.

Was excited to try the wine tasting experience and buy a wine bottle or two... only, my friend and I put our name on the list and waited for about 45 mins... meanwhile, at least two other groups of two who put their name on the list *after* us were called. We saw that we were obviously not wanted, so we left with out trying anything. I did so want to buy a few wines too. Maybe because my friend and I look so young, they thought we wouldnt spend enough money to be worth their time. Whatever the reasons were... this was the only specific stop we had planned on our trip to Helen and I was very disappointed.

The older man who helped us didnt share much information about the wines I tasted. He was also busy with other things, so I felt a bit rushed as I went through the $7.50 tasting. Other wineries in the area were more hospitable. The wines were delicious, though, and without hesitation I bought a $20 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. They also had wine slushies for sale: a "cosmorita," and a peach bellini, which pleased my boyfriend whos not a fan of wine. Getting to keep the wine glasses was a big plus!

Went to Habersham Winery on Saturday, 6/7 and they didnt acknowledge us, didnt serve us. They kept staring at us, but said absolutely nothing. We walked around for about 5 minutes then I finally asked one of the ladies if we could try their wines and she rudely answered. Needless to say we left. We felt we were ignored because of our skin color, I say this because others walked in after us and they were acknowledged and served. Went over to Cottage Vineyard and had a fabulous time.

No Hope For Humanity

Weve been coming to Helen since the 90s and the Habersham Winery was always something we would look forward to. The wine tasting was always FREE, and afterwards, we would buy a bottle or two of our favourites. This year when we went, we were dismayed to see that a tasting now costs $7.50 per person. No way. Not spending $32 dollars to taste wine AND buy a couple of bottles. We walked out the door without making a purchase.

We spent a small fortune. Not only did we purchase nearly 3 cases of wine, we also bought a wine rack. Not just a wine rack, but a nice piece of furniture. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Habersham. The staff took us on a mini tour, and could not have been more cordial. Not paying a tasting charge was nice. For those who do.....shame on you! Hope to get back to Habersham again.

Great wine for a little north Georgia winery. I like the muscadine and some of the others. Every holiday I make a Swedish Rumglögg with their Scarlet wine. Its always a high point of the holiday meals. You can see the vats, bottling process and their cask room. Lots of cool things to buy in the shop too! Make sure to stop by the wine bar for tastings.

It looked nice on the inside, but when my husband and I walked through the door we werent even acknowledged so we didnt bother to try and do any samples or make a purchase. We were in there walking around for about 5 minutes and were ignored. Wouldnt waste my time.

Gift shop has some unique things. The winery is not unique. No grapes on site and atmosphere is touristy. Staff is mediocre. The various selections of wines were nice but the pours barely gave you the opportunity to fully appreciate the flavors.

Habersham Winery is one of the best in the Hiawassee/Blairsville/Young Harris areas. The bartenders are so courteous and informative, and not at all intimidating to those just getting into wine. Definitely recommend them!!

Nice folks and an affordable tasting where you can keep the glass! None of the wine really struck my fancy, with the exception of Scarlet which makes a great table wine. Gift shop & ample parking too.
