I had played this course before I read all of the posts about poor customer service. The course itself is outstanding in my opinion. Very challenging, scenic, and fast greens. Tough but fair. I am new to the area and hoping to join a country club at some point. Since St. Marlo is very close to my home, I thought it best to start here. Since my one and only round I have had lots of challenges playing again. I walked in on a Friday afternoon around 1pm, and was told the course was booked for remainder of day. I then asked if I could make a tee time for the upcoming Sunday (being new to the area, I do not have local friends to pair up with). I was told the first available was 8:50am which was just fine with me. When the woman (Laura--very nice) tried to book the tee time, the system would not allow her to place me with a twosome. She said let me check with pro-shop to see if we can pair you up at 8:50 manually since the computer is not allowing it. After several mins of hold time, Laura then advised that the policy for a single golfer is to call the same day you would like to play and they will, "let you know what it looks like out there". I said, "Sooo, basically you are saying that 8:50 WAS the bst time available, but if youget another 2-some before Sun, I will have to play later if at all?" She said, "Yes, Im sorry but that is what I am being told the policy is. (great ownership)." I explained to Laura that I was hoping to have something more concrete as I have a two yr old daughter and would like to let my wife know in advance what time I could go before Sunday morning. She basically said there was nothing she could do about it. They lost my future business and a potential member all in one phone call. I called Riverpines GC and they were more than happy to accomodate my situation with an earlier tee time and only a 2 minute phone call. St. Marlo had me on the phone for 10 minutes to basically tell me I was not welcomed as a single player on their golf course. Oh well, their loss in the long run. Lots of country clubs here, both private and semi-private. Great course, unfortunate poor management of tee-times and accomodating people in situations like mine.

Zero customer service! Stay away! After they overbooked the golf course and also due to the frost delay we started 2hrs later after our tee time. The starter did a very poor job of scheduling and caused a major stall. After asking starter of why cant we start on hole 1 vs. hole 10 (where 4 groups of foresome were already lined up waiting to tee off) he got so annoyed that he start raising his voice but could not give me a good reason of why is he so stubborn. After the hot discussion with zero customer appreciation in his mind he lost it and charged at me as he would want to hit me. I am an athlete with 63 and 200 lbs with martial arts background and could easily take care of the old man but instead a free ride to the county jail I decided that Id rather talked to the management in the office. Unfortunately, even there I could not find any customer service so I decided to call it a day and left St. Marlo for good without hitting a single ball. Unless you like to be treated poorly STAY AWAY FROM ST. MARLO!!!!!! Ive heard several people telling me similar experience that St. Marlo offers.

Customer Service is not a familiar concept here! IF the reservation I booked was recorded successfully, IF the 4 rental clubs i reserved in advanced were actually reserved after I called and confirmed the the internet reservation captured everything, IF to accommodate this oversight, St Marlo would have offered the "make shift" set of clubs at a discount for their oversight, IF any of the representatives would have responded (after they read and opened the email of this complaint) - i might had been more willing to book cuttings here in the future. However, NONE of those IFs occurred, sadly.

I have played St Marlo many times. St Marlo is one of the best public golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course conditions are always very good. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I would recommend this golf course to anyone looking for a challenging but fair test of golf. They also have a very good restaurant and full service bar. They have hosted many tournament outings. So if you are looking for a good test of golf or looking to host a golf outing or wedding. Give them a call.

Do not waste your time at this club for a WHILE. The greens are lost and this absolutely beautiful layout is a big disappointment solely because of that. EVERY green has sporadic growth left due to fungal infestation. They have done their best to make them playable but every green plays like a plugged and top dressed green at best. I am no course superintendent, but I think they are a LONG way from recovery. Once the greens are back, it will be AWESOME though. NOT UNTIL THEN.

In town for the NSC Conference and a colleague and I were lucky enough to squeeze in a round of golf at St Marlo Country Club. The day was a bit dreary as it had rained a few consecutive days prior and so cart path only on our day there (thats ok- just helps me hit my daily steps!). I actually liked that it was an overcast day because the course was less crowded than what I imagine is the norm. The course was beautiful and in great shape. The staff was very friendly.

St. Marlo has been my first choice for several years but recently the course is beginning to show its age. But worse than that is a five hour round on a Sunday in the fall. The course wasnt even that crowed. If golfers would learn to play ready golf and stop all this golf etiquette it would have been a 4 hour round. Stop waiting to your fellow golfer to hit his ball on the other side of the fairway then drive 10 yards to hit your ball.

Please dont waste your money at this golf course, they always overbook and like to rush all players. We have a very bad time playing there and will not go back to this course. Even free, I will not play there ever again. Save your money and play somewhere else, any golf course is better than this place.

Living in the neighborhood is very nice, other than a few times security stopped us when they were wrong about what speed we were going at... Ive played the golf course several times, and each time was great. Other than the heat and a little crowding, this place is beautiful.

Terrible customer service. Rangers refused to move extremely slow groups off the course, was stuck behind a fivesome and sevensome. It is too bad since this is a nice layout but it is not worth getting stuck playing a 5+ hour round of golf.

Very nice course. Challenging, well maintained. I just have one complaint and that is of the 9th hole. It is way out of place and character at this golf course. When are you going to change it?
